Suits and dresses. We love an excuse to dress up! We advise comfortable shoes (think flat or block heel)-- French Quarter streets are treacherous.
The welcome happy hour and the wedding itself will be adults only. If you're bringing little ones to New Orleans, we would love to see them at Sunday's picnic!
The City of New Orleans requires proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter bars, museums, and restaurants, and we have verified that this is widely enforced. This includes our wedding venue. You will need your vaccine card or proof of a negative test within 72 hours of the wedding. You will also need it for the welcome happy hour and the after-party on Frenchman Street. We also ask that our guests take a COVID test a day or two before the wedding, regardless of vaccine status. Test kits are usually available at drugstores. We appreciate your help ensuring that everyone is safe. Our venue will be at less than half capacity, everyone will have tested negative, and food and drink will be served all night. Considering these factors, we will not require you to mask-- but we will have masks for those who feel more comfortable wearing one, and plenty of hand sanitizer. Our Sunday picnic and after-party will be outdoors, weather permitting.
We'd appreciate your RSVP by February 14 so we can provide a final headcount to the venue by their deadline. Remember, too, that if you decide to stay in one of the hotel blocks, you'll want to book as early as possible.
Short and sweet. Tyler's big brother, Kyle, is officiating. In addition to publicly announcing our commitment to each other, we want to honor and include our loved ones in the ceremony. When you arrive, we'll ask you to bless our wedding rings-- with a prayer, some good vibes, or whatever you feel is appropriate. After we say the vows we've written, we will ask all present to vow to support us through the ups and downs of our life together. After we've all said I Do, we'll exchange the blessed rings, smooch, and then it's time to celebrate!
We have some true Southern hospitality coming your way. Please list any food allergies or dietary considerations when you RSVP so we can make sure your meal is safe.
Driving in New Orleans can be very stressful for visitors due to a combination of expensive speed traps, intoxicated pedestrians, and potholes that can swallow a shopping cart (as was the case at our first address here.) In addition, after the wedding there will be a Second Line, which means you will end up on Frenchman Street at the evening’s conclusion, and not at the venue. We recommend against renting a car for your trip. Instead, we recommend walking or Lyft/Uber.
We are so, so lucky to be celebrating our wedding in our favorite city with our favorite people. We realize that travel to New Orleans is expensive, and your presence on our big day is all the gift we need. We do have a registry for those who can't resist, however, and it can be found on this website.
