She joined them at their Airbnb, along with her friend Aly Demarco. In that moment, Davis saw Zoë in a new light—confident, beautiful, and genuine. She was captivating, and he couldn’t shake her from his thoughts. Back in Lakeway, Davis faced the dreaded hair appointment to get those frosted tips. He reached out to friends for support, and out of five, only Zoë could make it. What a blessing that turned out to be—Zoë, not the frosted tips. They say you do foolish things when you’re falling for someone, and asking Zoë to accompany him to the salon was a bold move. But it was the best decision he ever made. Even with frosted tips, Zoë found herself enraptured by Davis's magnetic personality and dry wit. They spent the next five hours exploring the town they lived in as if they had never been there before, finding excuses to prolong what they didn’t realize was their first date. That fall, both Davis and Zoë attended the University of Oklahoma, and their relationship became official. It seemed as if God kept opening doors to keep them close. As college came to an end, they faced the challenge of a long-distance relationship. Davis took a job in Dallas, while Zoë returned to Austin to work in the family business. Davis knew Zoë was the one the summer before college. She is the most spectacularly gifted and kind woman he’s ever met. He had to plan an equally spectacular proposal. After nearly five months of planning with the help of London, Sandra, and his sisters Tate and Summer, the plan was set. While Zoë was visiting London, who was studying abroad in March 2025, Davis flew to Italy to surprise her. She arrived in the small Italian town of Arezzo, where they had studied in the spring of 2022. As she stepped off the train, she was handed letters Davis had written, recounting their time in Arezzo and leading her on a journey through the town, each location holding sentimental value. Finally, she reached the hill with the Cathedral, where Davis was waiting with the ring.
