Take a walk down the historic Main Street in Ferndale. There are several art galleries, antique shops, boutiques and coffee shops. Some favorite shops include: the Golden Gait Mercantile, Ferndale Emporium, Lost Coast Living, and the Farmers Daughter. There are also several great coffee shops and restaurants like Minds Eye Coffee Lounge, Ferndale Pizza Company, Tuya’s Authentic Mexican, and The Boardroom Ferndale.
This beach is about a mile out of the town of Ferndale. Enjoy a walk down the beach with your toes in the sand. Bring a sweater and maybe a coffee because it’s usually windy and chilly.
Try a wine tasting from the new Sitka Wine Lounge located in the Gazebo Victorian building right on Main Street. Enjoy wines from Northern California, Oregon and Washington. They also have locally curated beers, ciders, coffee and tea. You can also share a small plate made from local seasonal ingredients.
If you’re staying outside of Ferndale this is a fun little wine bar to visit!
Ferndale is between Redwoods National and State Parks and Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Enjoy being by the coast while also being in the heart of some of the world’s largest redwoods. A beautiful drive through the Avenue of the Giants is a great way to start or end your trip to this area! Stop by the Humboldt Redwoods Interpretive and Visitor Center so learn more about the area and see the “Travel Log” display. You can also make a visit to the Shrine Drive Thru Tree!
