Mine Hill Preserve
A beautiful walk with many different trails to explore. Head up the hill along the old mine trail to reach the mines, or keep straight to visit the historic iron-making complex.
Lilly Preserve
Our most frequented walk/hike. Walking distance from our house, it’s a hidden gem!
Dorothy Diebold Lane
Dirt road for walking and one of the best sunset spots around! Not sure about time of year but there has historically been lots of fireflies in the meadows.
New Morning Market & Vitality Center
Our go-to natural food store. They also serve coffee and prepared food.
Earth Tones Native Plant Nursery
A fun place to visit if you are interested in the local native plants!
Ovens of France
We highly recommend the croissants! Although the internet may tell you otherwise, they are not open on Mondays.
Woodbury Deli & Catering LLC
Sandwich joint in Woodbury. Nothing fancy, breakfast and lunch, close to where many of you are staying.

Nature View Farm
We buy all our meat and raw milk here. The family who owns it is very sweet and they also have fruits and veggies.

Meraki
A great spot for breakfast and lunch, although a bit out of the way if you’re staying in Roxbury. Keep in mind they close at 4, and consider stopping for ice cream at Arethusa down the street or going up to historic downtown Litchfield!

Pizza and appetizers, good beer and wine selection. Scenic location in downtown New Preston.
New Preston
It’s worth exploring this cute downtown, especially if you are planning a dinner at The Owl or hiking up Pinnacle.
The Pinnacle
A short hike that leads to a beautiful view of Lake Waramaug. Close to The Owl and New Preston.

There is a Saturday morning farmers market from 9:30am-12:30pm!
Steep Rock Preserve
One of the most popular hiking areas around, for good reason. Shepaug River flows through the heart of the many lovely trails. There’s a gravel road for more leisurely strolls and tons of different terrain.

A cute small business that’s worth browsing!

Washington staple. Decent food, great vibes. G. W. stands for George Washington.

Cute sandwich spot in Washington depot. Good place to stop if you end up over at steep rock.
