Jennifer and Lewis first met on October 23, 2016. That night, Jennifer decided to go out in Baltimore with her girlfriends, Carly and Taylor. After a fun evening, the girls ended up at the Scott Street Stronghold to hang out with Carly’s boyfriend at the time and his roommates — one of whom happened to be Lewis. When the girls arrived, Jennifer was shown a Snapchat of Lewis’s roommates covering his bathroom in pictures of half-naked male fitness models while he slept. Not stopping there, they attempted to sneak some into his bedroom, accidentally waking him in the process. While watching the Snapchat, everyone begins to hear footsteps of Lewis coming up from the basement. The roommates yelled “RUN!” and scattered, leaving Jennifer — who barely knew anyone or the house — standing alone in the living room, terrified. Despite the less-than-romantic introduction, the rest of the night turned into one full of fun and laughter as the group stayed up singing and dancing to music videos. As the girls headed home, Lewis asked Jennifer for her phone number. They began texting casually and set a date for the following Tuesday. At first, Jennifer wasn’t looking for a relationship and even thought she might “friend zone” Lewis. But once they sat down together at the Waterfront Hotel in Fells Point, everything changed. Their conversation flowed so easily that their server had to come back three times before they could stop talking long enough to order a drink. It wasn’t love at first sight… but it was love at first date.
