We are Getting Married!

Rebecca was working at the Southwestern College Library reference desk when John walked in with a mutual friend (Man of Honor). It took many months for Rebecca to notice John since he is so quiet. On Dec 6, 2019, John took a silly video of Rebecca and she wanted it sent to her. This is how John got her number. We started talking and never stopped. Soon to follow John wanted to date Rebecca and decided to travel with her to Nebraska. Rebecca had a meeting that helped her continue her career plan. While in Nebraska, John asked Rebecca's parents for their permission to date her. Obviously, her parents agreed! This set the tone for the rest of their lives and has pushed them through the difficulties of a long-distance relationship.

Rebecca was visiting John in Texas for the holiday week of Easter. She was expecting a proposal soon but did not know when it would be coming. On Easter Sunday, during the Davila Family Easter Egg Hunt, John surprised Rebecca by getting down on his knee. John had put the ring in an easter egg with the help of his Mom (Elsa), and Grandma (Elena). When Rebecca turned around and found John on his knee, she dropped all her eggs and found the best prize of all, the GOLDEN EGG. Rebecca shouted "YES," and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Nebraska! #OnceUponADavila
