We met in late 2016 in Lugano, Switzerland, where we were both working at the time. We hit it off at an Irish pub and over the next years became friends, significant others, roommates, and then on and off long-distance partners. When my case ended and I left Lugano, Davide quit his job, sailed across the Pacific Ocean, and asked me to meet him in French Polynesia. Afterwards, he flew to the US to meet my family. I guess he must have liked them because that's when he made it clear that he envisioned a life together. The next couple of years were fun and exciting, but also difficult with long-distance. We tried to maximize our time together by meeting up and traveling in various countries. Raising our two cats helped us feel like a family despite the distance. In March 2020, I quit my job to move to wherever we could both legally live together. First we lived in Davide's hometown in northern Italy, but a few months later we moved to Berlin. Living in Berlin gave us the chance to focus on each other and we realized that if we could handle all these challenges to date, we could handle anything. We decided to make things "official" so we'll never have to be apart again, and we can't wait to celebrate our union with our friends and family. Ci siamo incontrati alla fine del 2016 a Lugano, in Svizzera, dove entrambi lavoravamo. Ci siamo trovati in un pub e ci siamo subito piaciuti e negli anni successivi siamo diventati amici, partner, coinquilini ed infine abbiamo avuto una relazione a distanza. Quando il mio progetto si è concluso e sono partita da Lugano, Davide ha lasciato il lavoro, ha attraversato l'Oceano Pacifico e mi ha chiesto di incontrarlo in Polinesia Francese. Successivamente, è volato negli Stati Uniti per incontrare la mia famiglia. Immagino che gli siano piaciuti perché è stato allora che mi ha detto che immaginava una vita insieme. I due anni successivi furono divertenti ed eccitanti, ma anche difficili a causa delle distanze. Abbiamo cercato di massimizzare il nostro tempo insieme incontrandoci e viaggiando in vari paesi. Accudire i nostri due gatti ci ha aiutato a sentirci come una famiglia nonostante la distanza. A Marzo 2020, ho lasciato il mio lavoro per trasferirmi ovunque potessimo entrambi convivere legalmente. Prima abbiamo vissuto nella città natale di Davide, nel nord Italia, ma qualche mese dopo ci siamo trasferiti a Berlino. Vivere a Berlino ci ha dato la possibilità di concentrarci l'uno sull'altro e ci siamo resi conto che se fossimo stati in grado di gestire tutte queste sfide fino ad oggi, avremmo potuto gestire qualsiasi cosa. Abbiamo deciso di rendere le cose "ufficiali" così non dovremo mai più separarci, e non vediamo l'ora di celebrare la nostra unione con i nostri amici e la nostra famiglia.
