...but neither of us are hockey fans! That didn't stop either of us from checking out a Fargo Force game on December 3rd, 2015. We both decided to go as a part of the Fargo 20's and 30's Meetup group. Instantly we hit it off. We sat next to each other the entire game and couldn't stop talking. We found out that we both worked for John Deere and both have a deep love for traveling. Dave officially asked me to be his girlfriend on January 23, 2016. I dragged him along skiing with me even though he'd never been. I could tell he was not loving skiing, but even so, he was a good sport. I thought for sure I'd never see him again after that, but on the way home he sweetly asked me to be his girlfriend. It was wonderful! And the rest is history...
when Sophie and her mom were shopping. They found a proposal in blocks from a David to a Sophie. ‘How cool and random!’ they thought. They took a picture, moved on, and didn’t think much more of it after that. While dating Dave, Sophie found the picture in her scrapbook and they were both amazed by it! What are the odds? On December 8th, Dave was supposed to be in Fargo. He was not supposed to come to Iowa to visit Sophie until the following Sunday, at least that’s what Sophie thought. Instead, he left Fargo at 5am and drove all the way to Bettendorf, IA to surprise Sophie. She returned from work that evening (with drive thru Burger King) to find Dave sitting on her couch! He had laid out a Christmas plant, wine and chocolates on the table as a surprise. Sophie was totally shocked!! Gloria had run out of the apartment when Sophie opened the door, so once she hugged Dave she went out to get her. When she came back, Dave asked if she noticed anything else different in the apartment. Sophie looked and looked and couldn’t see anything. After more time than it should have taken, Sophie finally noticed the blocks on the mantle. Dave had laid them out just like the original photo. When she turned around Dave had the ring and was soon down on one knee. Sophie said yes!
