A tale as old as time. As soon as David saw Rebecca, he knew she was the one… and so did Hinge! We were listed as the “most compatible”. David sent one quick “like” and their story started. Their phones had constant notifications from the other, both texts and calls, for the next week leading up to their first date. David picked up Rebecca from her house, he is the first and only guy she ever let pick her up from home for a first date. They went to his favorite restaurant for dinner, Muzen sushi. They sat in silence while Rebecca “read” the menu, quiet from the nerves of being on a date with such a cute guy and horrified David will think she hates him because she wasn’t talking. David on the other hand “read” the menu of the restaurant he went to weekly for lunch, and thought to himself “why isn’t she talking? Is something wrong? Does she hate me?” After we both pointed to the same four rolls that looked good on the menu, the conversation started flowing and the nerves melted away. Shortly after the rolls arrived, Rebecca admitted that she was nervous, initially wasn’t able think of anything interesting enough to say to him, and was afraid he would think she hated him. David admitted he thought she hated him. (Rebecca still giggles about that). We talked for the whole dinner. Once they finished dinner, David gave Becca a few options to continue the date - drinks and dancing, drinks at the bar down the road, or a sober option of talking at the lake. With the nervousness gone and Becca having all of the words to say, there was an obvious answer. They made their way to the lake. In the back of the truck, David thoughtfully packed pillows and blankets. They set up camp and talked for hours. While David took Becca home, they made plans for their second date the next day.
