Ruben is my oldest brother. When I need a reality check or objective advice he is my go to for his vast wisdom. He will deny it, and it's one of his most admirable qualities: his humility. Ruben's hobbies range from dancing salsa, engineering, and learning about political events.

Ana is more than my cousin—she is like my big sister. Even living in Austria with her husband, she has always been close to my heart. She is incredibly creative, endlessly funny, and someone who brings joy wherever she goes.

My older brother Marcus is the protective kind. He is never afraid to stand up for family, and it is what's most important to him. Marcus has also been crucial in advising me and pushing me to be my best, no matter the distance. He loves soccer, music, deep conversation, and is notorious for food critique.

A brother from the midwest, a confidant wherever he goes. Allen is the definition of loyalty. In our very challenging time in Student Government he always had my back and when we disagreed we always did so with love and respect for each other. He is the little brother I never had, I gotchu Lil Bro. Allen loves soccer, cooking, and is, like me, a walking Dad joke pun machine.

Kansas gave me a great gift in Alex. From the very beginning, I have been able to be completely myself with her, and in such a short time she became one of the closest people in my life. Alex is working toward becoming a doctor, serves in the military, and is also an influencer. I always say she’s like a Barbie—she can be everything.

Alex is the most unique character I came across in high school, no words can describe. He is a pure soul, someone that will always be there to talk despite his busy schedule. He is recently married himself and has a wonderful wife in Lucy and their beautiful son baby Ivan. Mariana and I both look up to them and their beautiful bond.

Oscar and I go way back since High School. He always was there to joke with me and talk about anything and everything. Despite the distance we have, he and I always find time to catch up and he has been a very good friend. He loves film, classical music, volleyball, and Citizen Kane.
John Gacitua

John and I met while obtaining our Masters in Biomedical Sciences in Florida Atlantic University. We hit it off after social distancing was finally over after the pandemic. He was absolutely crucial in my path to medical school. He loves to help others, and I was fortunate to have him as a friend in a very difficult time. We bond in our occasional pickleball sessions, coffee dates, and our journey through medical school.
