David had noticed Kylie for a while at church, but had gathered she was in a relationship and figured nothing would come of it… until one fateful day. He sat down next to her at a volunteer happy hour for their church, only minutes before she had to leave. While trying to keep casual conversation with people around them, they kept coming back to each other. Little did Kylie know, her sharing her love for vegan cheese would send David on a hunt for it over the next few weeks. After a while of not seeing each other again, they both began to lose hope, until that perfect timing came back into play. After running into each other again for a brief moment, Kylie went home and told her roommate that she met a cute guy at church but couldn’t remember his name. Being creative, she realized he was serving that day and she could check the coordinators list of volunteers and what do you know! She found a name she didn’t recognize, looked him up on Instagram and added him immediately. At a loss for what to do next, she never reached out and started losing hope when he didn’t either. As it turns out, he had been watching her stories, waiting to find something he could relate and respond to. One late September day, he found his chance and they’ve talked every day since. Their first date lasted 7 hours, sharing their testimonies, fighting off the masses of Austin summer mosquitos. Neither one of them truly knew if this was a date until about halfway through dinner. From there, it’s history. They knew very quickly they had found their forever. By Christmas, they had begun talking about wedding plans and their future together. On May 11th, David took Kylie to dinner at Lutie’s knowing she’d always wanted to try it. After dinner, they walked around the gardens and he dropped to one knee and proposed. After a lot of prayers, conversations, and premarital counseling, they decided to get married on June 1st, 2023. That morning, they had a small legal marriage and flew out to Cabo for a beautiful beachfront ceremony with Kylie’s parents. Now, they are excited to celebrate their one-year anniversary by having a traditional wedding with all their friends and family that could not be there. Their lives are currently filled with the joys and challenges of newlyweds, while Ryder and Remy have quickly adopted David into their lives as the best dog-dad around.
