Kiera moved to Charlotte, NC in February of 2020, transferring from her Lineage facility in MA. She noticed Zach walking into the building during her first shift at the new facility. However, they did not speak until Zach first complimented Kiera's sweatshirt, an Avenger's Endgame sweatshirt. With both of them being shy, they didn't speak again until Zach threw a pair of (hopefully clean) socks at Kiera while she was working. Eventually Kiera added Zach on Facebook and he accepted, but they still didn't speak for quite some time. It wasn't until Kiera shared a sad post on Facebook that Zach grew concerned and decided to put himself out there to check on her. Zach's compassion and worry for someone he barely knew told Kiera from the start that he was the right person for her. Ever since then, they've basically been inseparable!

Zach surprised Kiera with an anniversary weekend away in Louisville, Kentucky to see her favorite musical group: Pentatonix! She was expecting a proposal all weekend long, but eventually gave up when they hopped in the car for the six hour car-ride home. When they arrived back home, Kiera found dozens of purple and green balloons (their favorite colors) all around the apartment. Each balloon had pictures of the two of them from their relationship in the past year. Before she knew it, Zach was down on one knee, holding a ring box that said "The Unbreakable Vow" on the outside and "Always" on the inside, and asking Kiera to marry him. He also had his crafty mom make sweatshirts for their two kitties that said "Will you" and "Marry me?" Unfortunately, they just would not cooperate. Lucky for Zach, Kiera still said yes, even without help from the cats! And the rest, as they say, is history.
