Things To Do

While you are in Northern Ireland we hope you are able to explore, listed below are some of our favourite places to go and things to do. We hope you love them too! Belfast is a vibrant city with a rich history. There is something for everyone, great food and great craic! If you want to know more or have any questions please reach out to us!
Hop On Hop Off Belfast Bus

Hop On Hop Off Belfast Bus

Donegall Square West, Northern Ireland BT1 1GA, United Kingdom

This is a great way to see the city! The company also offers a whiskey tour, Game of Thrones tour and will go to the Giant's causeway.

Titanic Belfast

Titanic Belfast

1 Olympic Way, Northern Ireland BT3 9EP, United Kingdom

This museum is dedicated to the Titanic which was built in Belfast. You can also see the SS Nomadic which is the last remaining White Star Line vessel in the world. You can walk along the slipways where the Titanic was built to get there. There is lots of art to see along the way.

Titanic Hotel Belfast

Titanic Hotel Belfast

8 Queens Road, Northern Ireland BT3 9DT, United Kingdom

This hotel is located across from the Titanic museum. We took Karen's parents here for afternoon tea one Christmas and had a brilliant time. We highly recommend grabbing a cocktail in the fantastic bar after some afternoon tea!

St George's Market

St George's Market

12 East Bridge Street, Northern Ireland BT1 3NQ, United Kingdom

Karen spent a lot of time here with her Aunt Renee as a child. They would come to the market and pick up some local produce. It is one of the last surviving covered Victorian markets and is full of local vendors selling fresh produce, food stalls, unique locally made gifts and there is usually some live music!

Boundary Brewery

Boundary Brewery

310 Newtownards Road, Northern Ireland BT4 1HE, United Kingdom

Boundary Brewing is owned by David's friends. They brew a wide range of great beers. Karen's favourite is the IMBONGO tropical IPA and David's favourite is the PILLOWS Pale Ale. They allow you to bring in food from outside (we recommend The Bethany chippy down the road!) and have a great selection of board games to play.

The Bethany

The Bethany

246 Newtownards Road, Northern Ireland BT4 1HB, United Kingdom

This is David's first stop when he arrives in Belfast! He highly recommends the fish and chips. You can take your food to go and visit Boundary Brewing just up the road.

Stormont

Stormont

Stormont, Northern Ireland BT4 3SR, United Kingdom

Stormont houses the Northern Ireland assembly and is situated in a beautiful public park. There are free tours of the parliment buildings, walking trails around the park and a huge kids play park. Karen's parents live nearby and we frequently take walks (weather permitting) around the park.

Giant's Causeway

Giant's Causeway

44 Causeway Road, Northern Ireland BT57 8SU, United Kingdom

The Giant's Causeway was Northern Ireland's first UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the north coast and flanked by the Atlantic Ocean. According to legend, the columns are the remains of a causeway built by the Irish giant Finn MacCool (Fionn mac Cumhaill). MacCool was challenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Benandonner and built the causeway across the North Channel so the two could meet. You can visit the Giant's Causeway for free but the on-site car park is reserved for visitor experience guests. There is a visitor center, guided and audio tours and a cafe. This is one of Karen's favourite places to visit.

Tollymore Forest Park

Tollymore Forest Park

Bryansford Road, Northern Ireland BT33 0PR, United Kingdom

Karen visited here a lot with her parents as a child and has fond memories of the stepping stones.

Carrickfergus Castle

Carrickfergus Castle

Marine Highway, Northern Ireland BT38 7BG, United Kingdom

Carrickfergus Castle is a Norman castle in Northern Ireland, situated in the town of Carrickfergus in County Antrim, on the northern shore of Belfast Lough. It's one of the best preserved medieval structures in Ireland and the only preserved castle of its age open to the public. David loves to visit here!
