Wedding PartyWedding Party

JacobJacob

Best Man

From letting me crash on his couch for weekends at a time, to helping me move both in and out of a 3-story apartment without an elevator, Jake has lived up to the title of Best Man. He is truly a welcoming, genuine, and fun-loving guy who I am incredibly thankful to know. Since high school, he’s always one of the first people I contact when I’m free, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Also, thanks for letting Jules and I hangout with Lani, the whale, on our second date, appreciate the assist my guy.

ColinColin

Groomsman

There are many things I could say about Colin throughout our friendship. From childhood hangouts, to high school ministry, serving in youth together, vacations together, and to now, but the biggest thing to me is the way he talks to Jules. I’m thankful to have a group of friends who all accept her as part of the group, but Colin has intentionally tried to include her into conversations since the moment he met her, and has made her feel so much more comfortable getting to know everyone.

RyanRyan

Groomsman

My longest friendship of the guys, day one rocket league teammate, and someone who always has my back. Ryan is both one of the smartest and most successful people I know, yet is wholeheartedly there for the people in his life. He has been a motivator for me throughout my life, and has been there to teach and cheer me on continuously; Accepting of who I am, but happy to help when asked, especially fixing my back, haha.

MaxwellMaxwell

Groomsman

I’ve known Max since middle school so there’s a lot I could say about him but I think my favorite thing is the way Julia and him interact. It takes a lot to shock Max, but ever since Jules and him met, it’s been her favorite thing to try to break him. She always is so excited when she can finally out weird him on something, and I really appreciate how quickly he treated her as part of the group.

NoahNoah

Groomsman

Even if he didn’t marry my childhood best friend, I think he still would be up here. Noah has been supportive of me throughout the years, as we’ve both grown from the slightly reckless bad decisions we made together, to the men we are today. He truly is family, and I’m so thankful to have their whole family here to support me too.

AustinAustin

Groomsman

Growing up, Austin was always Ryan’s football buddy to me. But as we got into high school, and especially as adults, he’s become one of my closest friends.  Despite living halfway across the country and training for NCAA competitions, I’m so thankful to have him be a part of this day with us.

LadawnLadawn

Maid of Honor

I met Ladawn at beauty school while we were both imprisoned, doomed to Paul Mitchell to get some hours to test for our license. Beauty school was not easy on me, and I didn't have any friends for several months of being there. When I met Ladawn, that all changed for me. She helped me find more friends and my lonely lunches became lively and fun. Despite school still being grueling, it became manageable when I met Ladawn. In the time since then we've only grown closer; she's easily one of my best friends. Her strong-willed nature, and the fact that she will tell me like it is made her the perfect gal for the job of fluffing my dress and humbling me when I need it lol.

AlyssaAlyssa

Bridesmaid

When we were discussing who we were gonna ask to be in our wedding parties, it wasn't a question of if we ask Alyssa, it was who got her. I won! Originally, I know Alyssa through David. They met as children through something called Mommy and Me Science. Not only did David and her hit it off, but their parents did as well. Many years later when David and I started dating I got to meet all the people important to him and get their approval. When I met Alyssa I was nervous, honestly, but it obviously went well haha. Since then I've gotten to know her a bit better in amongst our busy, busy lives. She's a delight to be around; she's a weirdo, like me. She's fitting like a glove with my friends too, which makes my heart happy, and I know it does for David too. I'm so happy and excited to share our big day with someone so special to my love. What's his will become mine, so through our marriage I will inherit his sister and best friend and she will be my sister and my best friend in law haha

EllieEllie

Bridesmaid

Ellie and I met at beauty school. She started a couple months before I was set to graduate, so our time spent at the Mitch may have been short but the 10 hours per day we spent together made up for it. Ellie is a very kind individual, tender-hearted and sensitive to others. She's hilarious when she needs to be, and warms me up when days are long and cold. Before I realized it, Ellie made her way into some of the top places in my heart, and I won't be going and giving that up anytime soon.

KristiKristi

Bridesmaid

Kristi I also met at school, a recurring theme in my life lol, but she's the pillar that's lasted in the chaos of my life. She was there when my dad passed, and I had my brain surgery. She never looked different at me, either. There was always something happening in the friend group we both resided in, but everyone agreed that it was never with Kristi, in fact she was the glue that held it all together. When those other friendships didn't last the test of time, ours was tested too, but ultimately we made it out the other side. When we did, my lungs could take a full breath again. She's one of my closest, and dearest friends, and I'm certain that she always will be.

GraceGrace

Bridesmaid

I'm not sure when I met Grace. I know she started going to Brentwood Neighborhood Church when we were both young, but I don't remember *meeting* her. What I do remember though, is the memories we shared together. I remember my time with Grace always being better because she was there. After we both graduated high school (in the midst of covid might I add) and our lives changed dramatically, rather than falling apart, our friendship was set in stone. Grace is hilarious, and knows lots of things. As a person who loves being infodumped on, and love having someone to infodump onto we became a match made in heaven. I don't think there's an amount of words too many for Grace, nor a topic too niche. She's an incredible individual, and an even better friend. Cheers.

CliftonClifton

Officiant

I (Julia) originally met Clifton through youth ministry. He began volunteering several years ago when his oldest daughter (also Alyssa, no relation) was of age to attend youth. I got to know her, and later worked with his two younger daughters Hope, and Audrey. The more I got to know the girls, realizing how awesome they are, I realized how awesome their parents are for raising them. When David finally got to meet them, he thought they were just as awesome as I do. I think very very highly both of Clifton and of his family. When we were discussing who could marry us, we thought of the people we care about who are strong in their faith in Jesus Christ. Once we realized that Clifton was an option, we stopped looking. I feel so honoured and blessed that he has said yes.
