Two Dorks Destined for Love

Josie: It was late Summer of 2015 and I had recently moved to Denver, Colorado. I was having fun making friends and exploring a new city after having graduated in May, figuring out how to live alone and "be an adult". My new friend Pete had warned me his brother Dave was moving to Denver and that we were going to be "so screwed" when we met, cause he said we'd be crazy about each other. Well, the day Dave moved to Denver a group of us all went out to a club called Vinyl where we drank and danced and had lots of fun. Dave and I spent the night chatting about not much at all, and I remember getting his phone number and asking him what to put his name in as. I heard him say "The Big Boy Dave" so I added him in as such and promptly left as I knew it was time to get to bed. He is still in my phone as that today, and I am so grateful that Denver and friends brought us together. Can't wait to marry you, Dave! Dave: It was September 2015, I had just driven straight from Maine back to CO by myself. I was delirious and exhausted. Of course my friends told me that we were going to the club, their new friend Josie was coming and that I had to meet her. For some strange reason my mashed potato mind figured that hitting the club after being awake for 30+ hours was an excellent idea and this Josie character peeked my interest so I agreed to come along. We met and became glued to each other that night we danced, chatted, and exchanged numbers then she gave me a kiss and LEFT without a word and proceeded to not talk to me for a week. Was it all a dream, had we really shared a connection or had I misinterpreted everything?? My mind ran wild wondering why she wouldn't respond to me. The following weekend we ran into each other at a play my brother was in. Trying to play it cool I said "hi" and then proceeded to my seat to watch the play. A moment later she sat down next to me, gave me a wink and the rest was history. We'll be sitting next to each other until we're old and crotchety!

When Josie Popped The Question

We got engaged the weekend of our 5 year anniversary in Moab, CO. We spent the day with friends mountain biking and playing by the river, filling the day up with some of our favorite things. The bike ride was about 10 miles longer than we planned, and we hit unexpected traffic on the way to the river. There were plans for us to enjoy a five course dinner chef'd up by our good friend Divvy Dave, but by the time we made it back to camp it was windy and cooling off. I was so nervous about what I had planned and decided to tell everyone involved that I wasn't sure I could pull it off. As sunset started, I asked Dave to go on a walk with me over to a canyon about 5 minutes from camp. He poured us a glass of whiskey to share and we made our way over, chatting about our day as if our lives weren't about to change forever. We sat down on the edge of the cliff and I popped the question with a ring in hand. We are SO excited to celebrate our wedding day with you all, get ready for a weekend of lots of love and fun!
