We met the old fashioned way, online dating. David contacted me because I lived in Drexel, NC and he couldn't believe that anyone could live there. We had the perfect first date aside from the sheriff's office waiting at my house at the end of the date because one of my friends thought I had been kidnapped. I knew then that this was different and we were supposed to be together. David took a little bit longer to convince. We dated off and on for over a year before I lost my job and because he was a bit slow to figure out what he wanted- I moved. Personally, I believe he figured out he made a mistake the day before I left but by then it was too late. It took six months, lots of prayer, persuading, and different circumstances but David finally decided to give love a chance and moved 3,000 miles to be with me. David proposed on a trip to Cannon Beach, OR and while he had a sunset beach proposal planned however dense smoke caused by summer wildfires prevented that. So, he proposed on a balcony, got down on one knee, declared his love, and asked me to marry him. And here we are.
