We're getting married!

Our friends tried to set us up several times between 2009-2010, but life had other plans. Fast forward to early 2016. David was encouraged to reach out to newly single Jelli, and they messaged back and forth for a few months. David flew out to visit Jelli, Caitlin (Dirty), and Justin (Sleepy) in Las Vegas for Jelli’s birthday, and sparks flew! We’ve been together ever since!

On a beautiful, typical (aka warm) winter's day on January 17, 2021, David randomly asked Jelli if she wanted to go to Mt. Umunhum so he could take some reference photos for his 3D modeling. Jelli had her suspicions, so she made sure to put in her contacts and throw on some makeup. They drove up, took in the views, and while overlooking all of the Bay Area (you could see all the way to San Francisco and Oakland!), David asked Jelli to marry him... and she said yes! After several years of super long distance dating, many flights back and forth to El Paso and Las Vegas, and a wild first 8 months of living together during a pandemic, they were finally doing the damn thing! David chose Mt. Umunhum for a few reasons: their first date was climbing up a big mountain with similar pretty views in El Paso, David used to live on a mountaintop in Turkey while in the Army, Jelli grew up thinking the building on top of Mt. Umunhum was where the tooth fairy lived, they visited it together for the first time in 2019, and you can see it from anywhere in the South Bay... so they are always reminded of that special day each time they see it!
