Island Life

Yes, we love the beaches and snorkeling on Maui but there are many other fun activities you might consider looking into. Here are some of our favorite hang outs and food spots on the island.
Cheeseburger in Paradise, Maui

Cheeseburger in Paradise, Maui

811 Front Street, Lahaina, HI 96761
, (808) 661-4855

Good burgers. Live music. Great vibes.

Paia Fish Market

Paia Fish Market

100 Baldwin Avenue, Paia, HI 96779
, (808) 579-8030

We love their fish tacos, and walking around the town of Paia will leave you with some hippy-vibes for the rest of the day. They also have a location in Lahaina.

The Gazebo

The Gazebo

5315 Lower Honoapiilani Rd, Lahaina, HI 96761

We've actually never been here but everyone tells us it has amazing breakfast.

Kihei Caffe

Kihei Caffe

1945 South Kihei Road, Kihei, HI 96753
, (808) 879-2230

This place's breakfast...bomb. Just go there.

Napili Bay

Napili Bay

HI 96761

A great cove for watching the sunset. There is a spot called The Sea House right on the water here with some pretty tasty mai tai's as well.

Mama's Fish House

Mama's Fish House

799 Poho Place, Paia, HI 96779
, (808) 579-8488

We've actually not been here, but have continued to hear wonderful things about the food and atmosphere.

Ahihi Bay

Ahihi Bay

Wailea-Makena, HI 96753

One of our absolute favorite snorkel spots. This is about as south as you can go, and there is a parking lot just before you begin driving through the lava beds. Park there and walk north to the cove. Getting there in the morning is best. At the parking lot, you can also walk across the lava beds to Le Perouse Bay for some more secluded snorkeling as well.

Honolua Bay

Honolua Bay

Honolua Bay Access Trail, Lahaina, HI 96761

A fun walk through jungle vines to get to this snorkel spot. FYI: there is no sand on this beach- just rocks.

Hookipa Beach

Hookipa Beach

HI 96708

Snorkeling is okay here, but dependent on the wind. Great surf and windsurfing spot. Turtles come up in the morning and early evening to rest on the beach so it's a great spot to pull up a chair and watch them make their moves.

Kapalua Bay Beach

Kapalua Bay Beach

Kapalua, HI 96761

We think this is the best bay for snorkeling and relaxing. It can get crowded so we suggest arriving early.

Ululani’s Shaved Ice

Ululani’s Shaved Ice

760 Front Street, Lahaina, HI

There are a few of these delicious spots on the island so make sure you hit up one of them for some shaved ice.

Honolulu Cookie Company - Whalers Village

Honolulu Cookie Company - Whalers Village

2435 Kaanapali Parkway, Lahaina, HI 96761
, (808) 661-8248

mmmmmm...we love these cookies. If you end up near them, try them all.

Hana Highway

Hana Highway

Hana Highway, Hana, HI

This is a full day activity but totally worth it. There are a handful of stops to make on this scenic drive but our favorite stops are 3 Bears Hike, Black Sand Beach, and the hike through the Bamboo Forest at the very end.

Iao Valley

Iao Valley

HI 96793

This place is great for hiking and can be an adventure filled day away from the beaches.

Haleakala Crater

Haleakala Crater

HI 96790

Haleakala is the volcano on Maui. Many love to visit the crater at sunrise, and you can even rent bikes to bring you all the way down.

Kapalua Golf - The Bay Course

Kapalua Golf - The Bay Course

2000 Village Road, Lahaina, HI 96761
, (877) 527-2582

This is one of Dave's favorite spots on the island. On our trip last year we were lucky enough to watch some of the pros play here.

Emerald Golf Course

Emerald Golf Course

Wailea Golf Club Drive, Kihei, HI 96753

Not only is this where we are getting married, but this is where we (well mainly Dave) golfed on our trip here last year.

Wailea Beach

Wailea Beach

Wailea-Makena, HI 96753

This is the closest beach to where we will be staying before the wedding. It is also our favorite beach to float on...hence Dave's donut float in this picture. We plan to spend some time here for sure.

Kaanapali Beach

Kaanapali Beach

Kaanapali, HI 96761

One of the longest beaches in Maui, this spot has great sunsets. It's also a great beach for long walks, and it is close to Whalers Village- a fun outdoor mall for shopping and restaurants.

For all the days along the way
