Dave: There was a connection I was never able to describe but I knew it was the most genuine & meaningful thing I ever felt. I finally asked Jane out at a place she later told me was "pretty lame." Before our 1st official date she broke up with me 3 times. Early on, it appeared it wasn't going to work out, but circumstances kept placing us in positions to make it work -that & we lived down the block from one another. Eventually, Jane stopped resisting me & within a few weeks of dating suggested we go to Maui together. Maui, what a terrible idea (said no one ever). We quickly fell in love & never looked back. We went to as many places together as we could, learning from each other & rarely spending time apart. It feels like we met at the right time in both our lives & I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together. Jane: I had just moved back to Hermosa & went back to teaching at ECHS. In the few months I was gone, they had hired a new para educator- Mr. Jonas- & he was assigned to my 5th period. At the end of the year we both chaperoned the 12th grade trip & shared a seat on the bus ride home. I don't remember what we talked about, but I remember telling my friend Jenna I had just met someone I would like to do life with. Fast forward a year, & we were both in new stages of our lives. I took a weekly pilates class & Mr Jonas started attending with his friend Mike, to better their golf game (or so I was told). After class one night, I met him for a bite at this not-very-good restaurant next to the gym, where he proceeded to say "So when can I take you on a real date" to which I replied "Dude, I'm your boss". We had a bit of an awkward conversation but in the end he helped me carry my groceries home that night. In the following weeks we continued to hang out & eventually I agreed that we should probably just do life together. Countless conversations, a handful of home cooked meals, & one life-changing Scrabble game later... here we are. I couldn't be happier.
