Flight
This is the main airport on the island and the most convenient place to arrive.
Hotel
Most guests we have spoken with are choosing to stay in Airbnbs, so we are not doing an official hotel room block at this time. Here are 3 recommended hotels in San Juan: (1) La Concha Renaissance San Juan Resort: this is a full-amenity beach resort that is conveniently located for all wedding events. Prices will be between $300-500 per night (2) Hotel El Colonial or The Gallery Inn in San Juan. Both of these are boutique hotels located right in the middle of Old San Juan. Prices are between $200-300 per night. There are a few rooms remaining at each hotel, as of mid September. (3) Duna by DW. This boutique hotel is located closer to the nicest beaches Ocean Park and Isla Verde. It will be quieter and less touristy than the other locations. Price is between $300-$350 per night.
House Or Rental
The link below is a guide to our recommended neighborhoods for Airbnbs. We have done long-term stays in Old San Juan and Ocean Park and enjoyed both locations. If you have any questions about a neighborhood or location, feel free to text us!
Rental Car
If you plan to stay within San Juan during your stay, then a rental car is not necessary. Ubers are easily accessible and affordable. If you want to leave San Juan and explore other parts of Puerto Rico, then all rental car companies should be OK *except* Routes Car Rental and Allied Car Rental. These car companies will often show up as the cheapest price, but there are loads of hidden fees and they have notoriously bad service on the island.
Travel Note
Since Puerto Rico is part of the United States, you do not need a passport to visit the island! All tourist areas are generally bilingual and language will not be a barrier for communication.
