Prologue: Act I

Prior to October 2021

Prior to meeting, David and I had both been married, divorced, been through multiple ups, downs, and all-arounds and were ready to see what Act II had in store.

Chapter One: In The Beginning

October 2021

Our first contact was October 2021 via OkCupid, our digital conversations led to beers at Georgetown Brewing Company in Seattle (David not a fan of beers but agreed because he was curious to meet). We hit it off right away and spent the evening talking and laughing. Our second date was a hike to Lake 22; David likes to call this our "actual first date" as it consisted of more than beers and dinner. From there the adventures continued with hikes, backpacking trips, car camping, travels to AK, NV, CA, UT, LA, etc.

Chapter Two: Plot Twist

October 2022

Months rolled on and so did the adventures, soon we found ourselves living together in my Seattle apartment. We began envisioning what a mutual future would look like, when or if we would be married, and various topics new couples ponder. One thing we established early in our relationship, no kids, neither of us had children and were not looking to change our "Double Income, No Kids" (DINK) lifestyle. ***PLOT TWIST*** September 2022 I suspected my body was changing a bit more than usual (and my pupper Albus was being more clingy than usual), these changes were confirmed October with a positive pregnancy test. The test result was a surprise but one which we immediately embraced with love and excitement. We would no longer be DINKs, but would enter into new world of the human experience, child rearing.

Chapter Three: Bridge, Statue, Ferry, Outlet Mall

February 2023

Trimesters passed and we were excitedly planning for our baby. Our apartment in Seattle was perfect when I was single, a bit snug as a couple, and with a baby on the way it was becoming extremely tight (a lot like my clothes). With the apartment closing in on us, David planned a "babymoon" trip to New York for one last big adventure before baby. We arrived in NYC the week after Valentines Day and planned to wander the city for several days. Our second day we spent in Central Park, walking from end to end with David looking for one of the iconic bridges, I was unsure why willing to play along. My preggo bladder and lack of energy cut us short, before we could find the bridge (He refers to this day as "Plan A"). Our third day in Manhattan, we decided to take the iconic Staten Island Ferry, where we could get a good look at the Statue of Liberty. After the short ride with great statue views, we got off the ferry and proceeded to wander the outlet mall at the terminal. We stumbled on an awesome view of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge, we stood there taking it all in. When I turned around David was on one knee and I am sure you can guess the rest.
