We've strolled through the garden countless times to indulge in the beautiful flowers and greenery downtown Boston has to offer. If you're lucky, sometimes next to the bridge there's a man playing the er hu, a traditional Chinese instrument.
Boston Commons is the oldest city park in the US, established in 1634. To the northeast, you'll see the glistening gold dome of the MA State House. To the west, you'll see sprawling green hills leading to the idyllic Public Garden. To the south there's a cast of a water fountain that was first displayed in the 1855 Paris World Fair. Enjoy a stroll through this historic park, an activity we've done many times together!
You can either choose a guided tour or explore on your own to learn the history of our country. Carissa first walked this tour with her sister Christine to learn revolutionary history because she never took US history in high school since she moved to China! Just follow the red-brick road to get a glimpse of our nation's past.
If you have time, check out a show here! We've seen multiple broadways including Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast (can you guess a trend here?), The Book of Mormon, The King and I, Hamilton, and many more at the Opera House. The architecture is exquisite in the theater and any show here will be a wonderful theatrical experience.
Home to one of the greatest art heists of our nation, this museum carries treasures from around the globe. They pay homage to the stolen art as well. Visit the museum to learn more and se if you can spot where the 13 missing art works once were.
Whenever we can, we steal a night to explore the wonders this museum has to offer. One of our favorite exhibits of the MFA was one dedicated to the origins of Winnie the Pooh and the character's global influence. They have such interesting exhibits!
