The wedding venue is right next to Kings Beach State Recreation Area, one of the best and most popular sandy beaches along the lake. Sand Harbor is another fabulous, popular beach on the east side of the lake, just a little further south. There are plenty of smaller beaches and coves to explore!
There are many beautiful trails and vistas around Lake Tahoe. Aishwarya loves Emerald Bay State Park and the Tahoe East Shore Trail. Close to the wedding venue, the Stateline Fire Lookout trail, which starts in Crystal Bay, has great views for a short walk. Other great trails include the Flume Trail and the Tahoe Rim Trail. Keep in mind that Lake Tahoe's altitude is around 6000 feet, and many hiking trails go much higher.
We don't know very many restaurants around the lake, but we have heard that these ones are great: The Soule Domain (Crystal Bay/Kings Beach) - dinner & desserts Fire Sign Cafe (Tahoe City) - breakfast & lunch Bridgetender (Tahoe City) - lunch & dinner, outdoor patio
If you are staying in Reno, here are a few highlights we recommend: River Walk: trail along the Truckee River through town with several parks Nevada Art Museum The Discovery (Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum) - great for kids Midtown: modern district with shops and restaurants, including Noble Pie Parlor & Brasserie Saint James Hiking: Thomas Creek & Whites Creek trails have great views and lots of shade Wild Horses: herds of wild/feral horses live in the hills east of Reno - try Damonte Ranch, Virginia City, or anywhere off I-80 to the east
