De Nada is one of our go-to spots when we want a casual but fun atmosphere, and their margaritas are some of the best in Austin. Their drinks are on the strong side (even though you can't taste it!), so maybe stick to 1-2! Across the street is also Central Machine Works where David surprised Erin the night of the engagement. They have great live music and plenty of yummy drinks and apps.
Sway is a great modern-Thai restaurant that is perfect for a fun date night or a big group dinner. One of our favorite dishes on the menu is the Son in Law. Everything on their menu is so flavorful and it's a great place to try a lot of dishes and share. Enjoy!
Need I say more? ;) After you hit YETI, you can explore South Congress shopping (Tecovas is David's favorite for cowboy boots), ice cream at Jeni's, or hit the trail for views of Lady Bird Lake (where David proposed!)
Austin is known for food trucks! This food truck park is one of our favorites. We also went here the morning after we got engaged! You can find coffee at Desundo (try thier miso latte and you won't regret it), to-die-for kolaches at Kerlaches, tacos at Veracruz, and a few other vendors like smoothies and pretzels!
Via 313 is Erin's favorite food in Austin, hands down. Enjoy some amazing Detroit style pizza (Erin's go-to is The Ambassador Bridge) then grab a drink at Zilker Brewing Company or Whisler's across the street (David's favorite spot to go out). This area of Austin makes for the perfect evening!
Tex-mex with a Polynesian twist! Hula Hut is known for their great views of Lake Austin, and it's also a perfect spot for families.
A more rowdy Tex-mex option ;) This is our last recommendation, but certainly not least! Matt's is one of our go-to spots when friends and family are in town or for a big birthday dinner. Their vibes and Mexican Martinis are immaculate (they also always say the wait is going to be way longer than it is, so don't be scared). Have fun!
