Our Story

Our story does not begin with a traditional, "So I met this girl at the grocery store," or "There's this cute guy at the gym and I said hi." Instead, David and I met how a lot of modern couples do - via social media. With both of us being in the car scene, we had a couple mutual friends on Facebook and soon we became friends. After a few funny memes and some flirting on each other's posts, I finally sparked a conversation with David. It was a cold January day in 2020, pre-COVID era. We hit it off and soon went on our first few dates to White Rabbit Gastropub (one of our favs!) and Dave & Busters for Valentine's Day. After the world shut down, we faced the first of many challenges in our relationship: either we live together immediately, or we never see each other due to other's health issues in the household. We ultimately decided that what we had was real, and the next thing we knew, we were living together after knowing each other for only a couple of months. We did what every young couple does, and we got a dog, Penelope - she brings so much happiness and energy into our household. The end of 2020 would be another one of our greatest challenges as a couple to navigate, as I lost two of my brothers just 6 weeks apart. The devastation cannot be summed up into words, and I owe everything to David and Penny for getting me through some of the darkest months of my entire life. By the end of our first year, we had already been looking at houses. In January 2021, we moved out of the apartment and into our beginner home. We added another canine companion shortly after, Cleo, and our hearts were so full. We have spent the years following building our home and life together. We bonded over our shared love of traveling and adventure, and we have done exactly that. We have driven or flown to 17 different states together, including overseas to Hawaii. We have also traveled internationally to Japan for two weeks - where we got engaged in front of Mt. Fuji! While our bucket list is incredibly long, we are slowly checking off all of our desired destinations. I think what makes our relationship thrive is the ability for us to find the adventure in the everyday mundane aspects of life. We can turn an errand day into an exploration, or a random evening during the week into a sightseeing and culinary experience. It helps that David supports me when I bring home feral cats and kittens and adopt another dog, Cannoli. The future for us includes many more miles trekked and passport stamps, as we will continue to live each day to the fullest. Our home and hearts are full of love and paw prints.
