Outdoor Activities
There are so many outdoor activities that Door County has to offer. Peninsula State Park is great for hiking, swimming, beaches, and panoramic views. There are scenic drives, golf courses, wineries and lighthouses - our favorite is the Cana Island lighthouse on it's own little island in Lake Michigan. So many places to explore!
Art Galleries
Door County is known to be an artistic community. There are many art galleries in town and along every road in the county. There is also Peninsula Players Theatre, an outdoor stage on the bay.
It's Wisconsin...so where's the bar?
We always start our Door County trip in Egg Harbor at One Barrel Brewing, indoor/outdoor atmosphere with fire pits, craft beer and vintage Nintendo. In Fish Creek there is Hill Street for outdoor atmosphere and Bayside Tavern for indoor Wisconsin atmosphere. Sister Bay has Dave's favorite - Stabbur Beer Garden for all the Scandinavian vibes.
Restaurants
There are so many amazing restaurants to enjoy in Door County: Wood Fire Pizza: Wild Tomato - our favorite! In Sister Bay or Fish Creek One Barrel Brewing in Egg Harbor – so close to the venue and did we mention the beer? Supper Clubs: The English Inn, in Fish Creek - Decor alone is worth the visit! Alexander's Of Door County, in Fish Creek Fine Dining: Barringer's Restaurant in Fish Creek – amazing seafood The Fireside Restaurant in Egg Harbor Cut in Fish Creek Door County is also known for their Fish Boils. We have not done a Fish Boil, we have done a Cajun Seafood Boil at the Kettle Black Fish Boil and that was very good… a little show with dinner!
Breakfast, Coffee and Ice Cream
There are tons of Breakfast/Coffee and Ice Cream shops in every village. All are amazing. We usually stay in Fish Creek when we visit so here are some we've gone to that we like, but there are so many more options out there to try still. Breakfast: Shiny Moon Cafe, Fish Creek White Gull Inn, Fish Creek Village Cafe, Egg Harbor Cafe's Hat Cafe, Ephraim If you are heading out of town - Rusty Tractor Breakfast Barn. The name says it all Ice Cream Shops: We always go to Dippy's Ice Cream Shop in Fish Creek, right next to the original settler's cabins of Door County Grumpy's Ice Cream, Egg Harbor Not Licked Yet Frozen Custard, Fish Creek Wilson's Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor, Ephraim Door County Creamery, Sister Bay
