Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Get ready to bring the summer FABULOUS to our wedding! Dress codes are so boring: we be do want you to show up as bold, bright, and beautiful as you’re comfortable being. Think playful, polished, and a little extra! For those who like a dapper vibe: Leave the dark suits behind—this is your chance to shine in vibrant colors, breezy linens, or even a statement blazer that turns heads. Fun prints? Yes, please! A crisp button-down or even a chic short-sleeve shirt works, no tie required (unless it’s fabulous, of course). Dressy loafers, polished sneakers, or stylish sandals are perfect—flip-flops are for the beach, darling. For those who love a fabulous frock: Flowing dresses, chic jumpsuits, bold patterns, or eye-catching colors—this is your time to twirl, sparkle, and stun! Go as bright or breezy as you’d like, and don’t forget comfy shoes for dancing. For those who prefer something else entirely: Let's be honest. You already probably have the perfect thing picked out. The ceremony is outdoors, so sunglasses and a stylish hat are welcome. The reception is indoors, so feel free to shed a layer and keep the party going. However you interpret summer FABULOUS, we can’t wait to celebrate with you in style! Need a little inspiration? Question

Why Cambria?

Answer

We were looking to have the event outside of Los Angeles so it could be a bit of a getaway for everyone, and we quickly ruled out Spain (you're welcome). We wanted to find something that would be affordable for us and our guests, and a friend suggested Cambria Pines Lodge, where he and his husband were married many years ago. We're both firm believers that sometimes coincidences really aren't coincidences, and we realized quickly that Cambria just happens to be the halfway point of AIDS/LifeCycle, which is how we met. As we began planning, we discovered that the weekend of our wedding also happens to be Cambria LGBTQ Pride (who knew a sleepy coastal town had a PRIDE FESTIVAL?!). Cambria Pines is an adorable, affordable resort, with an incredibly sweet staff. We think you'll love it there. It also happens to be a short distance from the Hearst Castle, which we recommend folks check out Saturday before the wedding, and there are tons of activities in the area like whale-watching, Clydesdale rides, gorgeous cycling - and you might even get a glimpse of WILD ZEBRAS (no joke)!

Question

What about booze?!

Answer

If you’re invited to the wedding, you’re probably aware that Adam and Dave, along with many of our guests, are sober, so alcohol won’t be “front and center” like at many weddings. Have no fear, though, there will be alcohol for those who want it. We’ll serve wine and beer Friday night, light cocktails before the ceremony, wine at the reception dinner, and a cash bar at the reception. There will, of COURSE be plenty of non-alcoholic options for those of us who don’t drink.

Question

Are the "optional" activities REALLY "optional"?

Answer

We've added several optional activities to help make the weekend experience (and in one case, the week following for folks who are staying in LA after the wedding) an even more fun experience for our out-of-town guests: Friday, June 27 - Whale Watching in the morning Saturday, June 28 - Hearst Castle tour in the morning Wednesday, July 2 - Dodgers game in the evening (Los Angeles) While we'd love to be able to cover the cost of these three events for all of our guests, we simply cannot, so prices for each are listed in the events section. We know travel is costly, so if these events are out of budget, or if they just don't sound like events that are for you, we will NOT be offended if you opt to do something else during those times. The ceremony and reception are the most important parts of the weekend, and we're grateful for your presence with us.
