Just one block from our humble abode, this is where we spend most of our free time. It’s an incredibly long stretch covered in coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants, cocktail bars, dives, and more! Like I said, it’s quite a long stretch, but a few of our fav blocks to peruse are between Napoleon and Washington. We also love the blocks in the Lower Garden District.
Check out some of the city's most opulent and lavish historic homes. If you're a history or architecture enthusiast, don't miss the plaques along the way! You can find a walking tour map online, or feel free to text us. Stop by Commander's for a fancy meal, or visit Le Petit Bleu for a coffee and quick bite.
While we love the French Quarter, we recommend visiting during the day. Our favorite bars are Pat O’Brien’s Piano Bar, Lafitte’s, and Cat’s Meow. For a fancy cocktail, check out Sylvain or Fives. If you’re in the mood for an elegant, old-school white-tablecloth dinner, we recommend Brennan’s, Antoine’s, Arnaud’s, or Galatoire’s. And, of course, don’t forget to grab a beignet at Café Du Monde!
Spend a morning at one of our favorite weekend spots, surrounded by live oak trees. Enjoy a leisurely stroll, a round of golf on the public course, or a game of tennis on the free courts.
Check out almost any bar day or night for live music.
