Since the lovely COVID 19 global pandemic (who would have ever thought?!) shut down our venue and made it impossible for all our guests to travel, our big wedding celebration was postponed. But 3/27/20 was our day, and we were just ready to join our lives together and become an official family. We had a very simple ceremony with just us and the boys and our witnesses and saved all the big "moments" for when our family and friends are with us. We will have our full ceremony that we have been planning and full reception with all the same vendors on 8/8/20.
We picked our caterer because they are behind one of our favorite restaurants here: The Fish House (and it's one of the places we had our first date). We love the Grits a YaYa and if you like good food, you will too. But here is more specific information about each of the 3 meal options: Option 1: Ginger-crusted chicken resting over poblano rice with stir-fry vegetables topped with pineapple chutney drizzled with sweet and sour sauce. Option 2: Braised Short Ribs Braised beef short ribs served with a trio of roasted potatoes, vegetable of the day, and topped with a house demi-glace. Option 3: Grits A Yaya: Blackened Gulf shrimp resting on a heaping bed of smoked gouda grits. Topped with a saute of spinach, portobello mushrooms, applewood-smoked bacon, garlic, shallots and cream.
We are registered on amazon, you will find the link to our amazon registry on our registry page at the bottom or you can search for our registry on amazon under David Williams and Amanda Sothard.
Yes! Ours will be there. If your invitation says you and your family, we mean just that! We invited you because we love you and want to celebrate with all of you! Please just make sure when you RSVP you let us know how many of you will be attending!
No, both our ceremony and reception will take place at 5eleven Palafox. We will exchange our vows in the back courtyard (weather permitting) and move to the side yard for cocktails while we take family photos and they set up the indoor dining area. We will then move inside for food and party time!
The synopsis is: we dated in high school, split up when Amanda moved away for college but stayed friends, didn't see each other for an entire decade, then saw each other again and realized that we were still head over heels in love with one another. And now we are getting hitched. And spending the rest of our lives together in ooey gooey cheesy happiness.
