We met in high school in marching band. We had a lot of mutual friends, but never really considered each other romantically until about a year later. David somehow always seemed to be in the library at the same time as my creative writing class and he always kept me distracted and laughing in a class that bored me to tears. So, of course I said yes when he eventually asked me out. We went to the movies and neither of us remembers much about our first date other than the fact that we went to see "Radio". From that point forward we were a pretty constant part of each other's high school lives. I decided to go to college about 5 hours away and, as it usually does, the distance wound up being too hard and we broke up. We always maintained a respect and friendship though, so I was incredibly touched when David asked me to be the one to drop him off for basic training when he joined the Air Force back in 2007. I graduated college and went to grad school and moved to Cincinnati, while David went all over the world in service of our country and continued his hard work for USAF. We both lived our lives and pursued our goals and stayed in touch via texting and social media. Then, nearly a decade later, we reconnected and realized that the love we had found as teenagers had never gone away. It's not often that you really do wind up marrying that person you fall head over heels in love with as a kid. It's also rare to fall in love with someone as an immature kid and still be in love with them as an adult. We mean it when we say that we are lucky to have found one another, not once, but twice. And we cannot wait to say, "I do" and celebrate with all of you!!
