Both the ceremony and reception will be on Peaks Island. The ceremony will be held at Saint Christopher Parish, and the reception will be at The Inn on Peaks Island. (Link to The Inn on Peaks Island: http://www.innonpeaks.com/)
Guests can take the Casco Bay Peaks Island Ferry from downtown Portland to Peaks Island. The ferry ride takes 15-20 minutes and lets off within walking distance of both the ceremony and reception sites. **Guests should plan on taking the 12:15pm ferry from Portland to Peaks Island unless they would like to have lunch on the island prior to the ceremony.** **We strongly recommend getting to the Portland ferry terminal at least 25-30 minutes before the scheduled departure to purchase tickets and get in line.** The church is a short five minute walk from the ferry terminal. Three golf carts will be available to shuttle guests arriving on the 12:15p ferry from the Peaks Island ferry terminal to the church as needed. We recommend taking the 12:15p ferry from Portland to Peaks Island. Guests who prefer taking an earlier ferry are welcome to take the 11:15a ferry from Portland to Peaks Island. Please note, this will result in approximately 90 minutes of down time between the ferry arrival and the ceremony. Guests who arrive on the island early can grab a quick lunch at The Restaurant at The Inn, the Island Lobster Company or Peaks Cafe. All three are located within two blocks of the ferry landing.
The Casco Bay Peaks Island ferry runs hourly during peak summer season. The last ferry leaves Peaks Island at 11:55p on Saturday nights. (Link to ferry schedule: https://www.cascobaylines.com/schedules/peaks-island-schedule/summer/)
The Casco Bay ferry terminal is located next to the Casco Bay parking garage. This garage is conveniently located, but has more expensive hourly rates and often fills to capacity. This garage is not recommended for those in need of full day or weekend parking. Please feel free to reference the Casco Bay ferry line’s list of recommended parking garages / lots for more info. The following link has a helpful map. (Link: http://www.portlandmaine.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1429/Parking-Convenient-to-Casco-Bay-Lines?bidId=) Those in need of cost effective long term parking should consider Angelo’s Acre Lot (#1), which may require an Uber to the ferry terminal, Portland Fish Pier Loy (#10) or Ocean Gateway Queuing Lane (#38).
Semi-formal wedding attire is preferred. Suits and cocktail dresses are welcome, no need to break out a tux!
Peaks Island temperatures typically range from the 70s during the day to the low 50s at night. Temperatures can change or cool down quickly on the water, so it's best to prepare accordingly. August is not an especially rainy month, so hopefully we get lucky with sunny weather! If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
