Recommendations

For family and friends who are coming into town early.

Topgolf

6400 Clipper Way, Oxon Hill, MD 20745

Right across from the hotel and where the after party will take place.

MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino

101 MGM National Avenue, Oxon Hill, MD 20745

If you are in the mood to lose money.

Ledroit Park Renaissance Bed and Breakfast

210 T Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

The best bed and breakfast in DC. In a central location within the city, close to Green line metro, the U Street corridor, and an easy walk into downtown DC. Please stop over and say hello!! And if there is anyone you know looking to stay in the city for any event, please recommend this humble, homey family establishment. 10 out of 10!!

Mandalay Restaurant & Cafe

930 Bonifant Street, Silver Spring, MD 20910

Literally the best restaurant. The first place Robert and Victoria ate together <3, as well as, a Verstraete family favorite.

National Mall

Washington, DC

The atrial fibrillating heart of our nation. Here you can find: The Smithsonian museums (which are free... thank you for taxes), The Capital, The Washington Monument, numerous war memorials and monuments, the Tidal Basin and cherry blossoms, and if you feel like walking you can go see the White House. In addition there is the Freer Gallery of Art, which is also the National Museum of Asian Art, a personal favorite Robert highly recommends.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

614 H Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

A Victoria favorite in the center of Chinatown. If you like to partake in raw delicacies, this place is a fun experience. With robotic servers and an infinite belt of food, what's not to love.

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

3001 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

Another Victoria favorite! Will visit any chance she gets. Her favorite exhibits are the big cats and the pandas. Also if you want to go a little off the beaten path, Robert loves the Amazonia exhibit, where the fauna and flora roam free!

Aroi

1832 1st Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

A fantastic local restaurant for those who love thai food. Best crab wontons!! A Victoria and Robert date night favorite. They also have one of the best and last remaining lunch specials in the DMV!!

Busboys and Poets

2021 14th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

This is a Victoria favorite for anyone wanting a fabulous brunch. There are numerous locations in the area. If you are with the bride, she's likely to recommend the Sweet Potato Hash and Sweet Potato Pancakes. The Crab grits are also a wonderful breakfast addition.

Rock Creek Park

Washington, DC

For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of this politically super-charged city, this is the place for you!

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

A nice spot for lunch and shopping. Highly recommend ice cream from The Creamery and a po' boy from Fish Wife!

For all the days along the way
