“The Bride’s BFF” They met during freshman year at LSU. By sophomore year they were inseparable & rooming together in the “horseshoe.” Treneisha is the bride’s “person,” has always been her sounding board & iron sharpener. The bride is the Godmother of Noah & Kaleb—two of the most beautiful & inquisitive children ever. Treneisha has never missed a milestone & the bride could not imagine getting to the alter without her.

“Sister Sister” Vontrese (as the bride prefers to call her) & the bride have been the best of friends since freshman year of high school. They went from sleepovers every weekend & penning conversations in a secret journal in between classes to rooming together freshman year at LSU. Vontrese has always been an integral part of the bride’s life & she’d have it no other way than to have her stand in this moment with her.

“The Bride’s Big Sister/First Best Friend” Donetra is the bride’s older sister. She is the one that made the bride get into all types of trouble while she laughed. You know…the usual “big sibling, little sibling” shenanigans. Even though she got her into lots of trouble, she only wanted to please her, she has always been there for her (like now), & wouldn’t change their childhood for anything.

“The Sister-Friend” Cherelle & the bride have been friends since high school. It was growing through adolescence into adulthood that turned their friendship into a “sistership” & made them realize that saying they were just friends was an understatement. So they then became “sister-friends.” While over the years, God’s love solidified the unbreakable bond that they share, the “friend” was lost along the way & they truly became sisters. There aren’t many important events that either one of them have not been a part of—either physically or spiritually. The bride wouldn’t have it any other way than to have Relle stand with her on her special day as she marries the love of her life.

“The Bride’s Sissssssssss” Valeria is the bride’s godsister, friend, intercessor, sounding board, encourager, & so much more. The two are truly spiritual sisters that share a unique bond that can sometimes be frightening to them both. Valeria has always stood in the gap for the bride & vice versa. The two bonded through their love & adoration of Christ & how He has always allowed their seasons to coincide with one another. She would not think of not including her in one of the most momentous seasons of her life.

They met in 2007 when Travis first got involved in politics and made visits to Tallulah.  Darryl and Travis continued to build their friendship also when they both relocated to Dallas in 2011. Travis is a godfather to Darryl’s daughter and Darryl is a godfather to Travis' son Xavier.  The two are Saints fans which strengthens their bond even more.

Travis and Kouri met in 2006 on facebook, then in person in 2007 in Columbus, Ohio at an Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Regional Convention. They’ve been very close friends since. Kouri is Xavier’s godfather, and they both have worked in politics together.  They consider themselves real brothers—even though not by birth.

Calvin is Travis' blood uncle.  He is the youngest brother of Travis' father, Calvin King.  Although nephew and uncle, Travis and Calvin grew up together and attended basketball camps together as teenagers. They played basketball together and have remained close throughout adulthood, volunteering together in many projects for Ferriday High School.

Lakendrick and Travis are cousins but became best friends starting in 2nd grade. They played middle and high school sports together and are both basketball enthusiasts. Travis stood as a groomsman with Lakendrick during his wedding in 2008. They are bonded for life.

Robert and Travis met in 2003 at Louisiana Tech University where they were college roommates.  They played college intramural sports together and became best friends along with Daniel and Emmanuel.  The four friends hung out every day for years while at Tech.

Douglas Gavin

Douglas and Travis met in 2009 in Washington, D.C. through a mutual friend. With them being mutually connected, over time, their friendship evolved into a brotherhood.

Andre and Travis met in 2011 in Dallas, TX at a networking event. At the time, Andre had left Washington, D.C. and was in Dallas for Deloitte as a Senior Consultant.  He and Travis gained respect for each other in the world of business and politics because they had so much in common.  Over the years, Andre has become one of Travis' closest friends, biggest supporters, and business partner.

Triyan is Travis’ youngest cousin.  Though he is younger, he is one of Travis' favorite cousins and they get to hang out in town when time permits.

Zu’Ranie is the younger cousin of Travis. They are very close.  They both are always checking on each other and doing lunch or hanging out when time permits.  The coolest thing about their bond is that both of their sons’ birthdays are on the same day.

Roderic and Travis met in 2003 while at Louisiana Tech University. They are also fraternity brothers and become members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in 2006.

Lol! The two share a unique bond & are both always ready to defend the other against what/whoever. The bride knew his role would always be special if God sent her his best. So here we are.
