Welcome to the beginning of our forever!!!

Well that’s not quite how it happened, but he tried. Lol! So, on November 13, 2018 to be exact, Mr. Johnson jumped in my DM on Instagram making small talk about the weather and asking how I was doing. I briefly answered his questions and he ended by sending his number because “he wanted to start checking on me” and letting me know that if he visited my city, I could go to his favorite restaurant with him. After that conversation, he would comment on my stories, ask questions about my food that I posted (questions that I already answered in the captions of my pictures) and so forth. During his run for State Representative, I supported him as I would have any other candidate from my hometown and even more so, because we went to school together, he was young, and I believed in all that he stood for. Other than that, I had no interest. 🤷🏽‍♀️ However, after finally accepting an invitation to one of his events then later another one where afterwards he professed his serious interest in me—I finally accepted the fact that he was after me. So, after many years of wearing me down, and forgetting the fact that he was not a particular person that I 𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘥 the company of in high school—God made the provision & gave us the opportunity to begin to date and grow in love. Then, days before our one year dating anniversary, he proposed in the presence of some of our closest friends and family where I accepted. Now, here we are about to make a covenant before God to love, cherish, & 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 each other for the rest of our lives.

I’ve known Darylana since high school but we never dated. We both graduated high school & went on to our respective universities. I went to Louisiana Tech University and she went to Louisiana State University. After both graduating undergrad, then graduate school, & many years of working in our particular professions—we reconnected. During my preparation of running for State Representative, I hosted a listening tour. As I hosted one particular event for teachers—there was Darylana—looking at me with bubbly, smiling eyes. I think she had a thing for me, because everywhere I looked, there she was smiling at me. So, I went ahead and gave in to her. I messaged her on instagram and we began talking. Now, here we are about to be married all because of her making sure that she got me. Lol
