When we had to cancel this party the first time, we knew we still wanted to get married in 2020. The party would happen whenever the universe was ready for it. On a rainy afternoon in July of 2020, we had a small ceremony in our Colorado backyard with a couple of close friends. Right before we began our vows, the sun came out. We have since welcomed our daughter, Addison in January of 2021 who was so excited to join us, she came 5 weeks early. Addison is fascinated by people, always exploring and loves to laugh. She will be joining us for our wedding and we can't wait for you to meet her!
We met as friends in high school in Norwalk, CT. Despite us both leaving Connecticut, attending college and starting our lives in different states, we stayed in touch. Following a get-together over Christmas in 2014 we soon realized there was something special between us that we both wanted to explore more. After over a year of dating long distance, Nina moved out to be with Darren in Denver, Colorado in the fall of 2016 and from there our relationship blossomed.
Something that was important to Darren when it came to his proposal was incorporating one of Nina's favorite things. One of these "things" happens to be hot springs.......So, after work one Friday, Darren whisked Nina away to the mountain town of Steamboat Springs. That next morning they went snowshoeing in the forest and it was there when they were all alone, he got down on one knee and proposed. Afterwards to warm up, they went to Strawberry Springs, a nearby natural hot spring.
