The dress code is cocktail or cocktail formal. We suggest that women wear a dress or a pants-suit , and men wear dress pants and a collared shirt or suit and tie. We hope you use this opportunity to dress up! The bride will of course be wearing white and the bridesmaids will be in a solid 'chianti' coloured dress, so we are asking women to please avoid these colours. Thank you :)
Vancouver is a very walkable city. But if walking isn't your style, public transit (buses and skytrains) are cheap and plentiful. If you do want to travel by transit, we recommend purchasing a compass card which allows you to travel easily on any transit (similar to Myki or Leap cards). https://www.compasscard.ca/
Don't despair Melbournians - and any other coffee lovers. We've done the research and have a list of options depending on your neighborhood. Some favorites - "The Garden Strathcona", Forecast Coffee on Main St, Small Victory - various locations and Nemesis - if you want to line up with all the other instragram photo-taking bloggers.
Great question. There are many options available depending on your beverage of choice (coffee aside). For the beer lovers out there: Olympic Village is full of breweries including 33 Acres (they also do a great brunch, R&B Brewing is perfect for pizza and beers. Main Street is another place well worth checking out, with tons of great bars around Broadway - there's really no bad option around there. There's tons of liquor stores around the city - we recommend going to one of the BC Liquor Stores as they're the cheapest option.
Absolutely - it depends on what you're into. Some options include: Tap and Barrel on the Seawall - solid pub food and lots of drink options. Mahoney and Sons (also on the seawall) - great pint of Guinness and more Irish pub style vibe and grub. Sing Sing on Main Street is a cool bar with great food, cocktails and tap list. Bells and Whistles is a hidden gem that's walkable from our place on Fraser Street.
There's an incredible local ice cream place called Earnest Ice Cream that does cones, pints, and offers vegan options if you're that way inclined. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
