Our engagement party!
Of course, we’ve all been on Tinder, Bumble or some type of dating app offering love for the free .99! However, life shows us things of value require some form of payment. So, I paid for a dating app in hopes of better stock to pull from. This brings me to how I met Bryse, because it seems that he caught on a little quicker than I did. I downloaded “HINGE” ( a dating app that I’d strongly recommend if cyber dating is your thing) and was not impressed. ( Why is it that the ones you don’t like are always the ones to show the most attention?!) After a day or two of nearly giving up hope, Bryse jumped in my dm’s. He started showering me with his southern charm, slick words, and promises that I THOUGHT were empty. At the time, I wasn’t trying to hear him out, but I decided to give him a chance. We started talking on the phone everyday and he eventually asked me to meet. On multiple occasions I turned him down because Covid was spreading and I had no intentions of letting him get me sick. Eventually, my mom’s birthday rolled around and, of course, her favorite restaurant to eat at is Captain George. I finally gave in and told him to meet me at the restaurant (I had never met him in real life and I watch too much Lifetime to meet him alone). He pulled up to the restaurant and I stepped outside to meet him. We talked for a while, and eventually I asked him to come inside. Why did I do that, lol?! His exact response was “No, you will not introduce me as a friend because that’s NOT the role I’m trying to play!” ……Well, that leads me to where we are today! He never got introduced as a friend, but from here on out, he will forever be introduced as my husband. And, from then until now, he has stood on every word he has ever said to me.
