Maid of Honor
My name is Maysa Daoud and I’m Darleen’s Maid of Honor and right hand woman! I’m St. Louis born and raised and met Darleen in middle school. I’m graduating law school in May 2020 to start my career as an attorney at a firm in Clayton, with the bar exam right after the wedding! Darleen and I have been friends since the start (she likes to say she wasn’t as weird as I was back then, but she ain’t fooling anyone) and have been through it all. I love her to Palestine, the Philippines, and back and I’m honored to stand by her side as her and Michael tie the knot!
Bridesmaid
My name is Sadija Lilić and I am one of the best friends of the bride! I am your local American grown with Bosnian roots, caffeine loving, adventure seeking ER Nurse. Apart from teaching me the fundamentals of how to save a life, University of Missouri- St. Louis also brought Darleen & I together during the first day of nursing program orientation over six years ago, we have been inseparable since. If you really want a good story ask me details about Darleen & I’s first ever conversation!
Bridesmaid
My name is Charlotte, and the bride is my closest cousin (AKA the sister I never had). I was born and raised in Missouri which means Darleen and I didn’t actually meet until I visited the jungles of the Philippines at 4 years old. We didn’t even speak the same language at first but were best friends from the moment we met. It’s crazy realizing that we are now 25 and have shared over 20 years of beautiful memories together. Wouldn’t trade them for anything in the entire world!
Bridesmaid
Darleen and I first in first grade, when I began attending Rose Acres Elementary School. We became quick friends, but not without our ups and downs - what can you expect from 15 + years of friendship! Once our middle school hormones wore off, we came back together as tennis teammates and Student Counsel executive members, which included duties such as week long StuCo summer camps and "working" in the store during lunch. When I moved away to Columbia for college, the distance really did make our bond stronger, and now I cannot imagine going more than 2 days without an obnoxious Spongebob meme - from me or Darleen - in our "FBI agents" group message. My hobbies include drinking red wine and talking about my 2 dogs (who are perfect in every way) to literally anyone.
Bridesmaid
Hi all, my name is Adela and I’ve been a friend of Darleen’s since the good old college days at the University of Missouri St. Louis. We met on day one of orientation at the Pierre Laclede Honors College. She had the bubbly personality and contagious smile I usually found annoying, but in no time she had me laughing. I enjoy long hikes with breathtaking views, the more breathtaking the better! Margs with the salsa and chips at El burro are likely to make me feel better at any moment. I frequently like to sing my heart out and dance like there’s no tomorrow. Find me at a hospital near you working as a PA helping get patients home from the hospital, hopefully in better condition than they came. Can’t wait for the countless laughs and good memories to come with the amazing couple!
Bridesmaid
Hi, my name is Chelsea. I have been friends with Darleen for about 3 years. I was born and raised in St. Louis (I went to Lindbergh high school). I love cooking and being a tourist in my own city. St. Louis is the perfect place to explore parks and diverse neighborhoods, and try out new restaurants! If you're traveling for the wedding and looking for a place to stop for a treat, Darleen and I recommend The Dapper Doughnut in Creve Coeur!
Bridesmaid
I’m Miranda Sander, originally from Effingham, Illinois but have been in St. Louis for over 6 years now. I met Darleen on our first day of nursing school and well, the rest is history. From cramming for exams in the middle of the night, to throwing parties in our apartment together after college, to sharing the same nursing job with the same crazy ER stories, we have been through so much together. Darleen stood by me as I married my soulmate and I cant wait to do the same for her as she officially becomes a Kaelin.
Bridesmaid
Hi there, my name is Fatima, a friend of the beautiful bride for over six years now! Born in southern Iraq, I had the beauty of living in three countries before meeting Darleen during our time at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Darleen and I met through a mutual friend while grabbing coffee (no surprise) early our freshman year and we knew right away this friendship was going to last! From our end of year celebrations to our caffeine runs, Darleen has been and continues to be a phone call away regardless of where med school sent me. If I’m not reading some medical textbook or looking up research developments from my time in Alzheimer’s Disease, you’ll find me exploring new coffee shops, attempting some Arabic calligraphy sketches or hiking a new trail whenever possible.
Bridesmaid
I met the bride through Michael shortly after graduating college. Ever since meeting Darleen, I have gained an awesome travel buddy, game night partner, and partial dog aunt to her pup, Hunter. I am super thankful to be a part of her special day!
Best Man
I’m Chris Scoles, Michael’s best man. We met playing baseball together at CBC freshman year and quickly became friends. From throwing the ball around the diamond to hanging out, taking trips, catching a cards game, or playing softball, he’s like the brother I never had. Michael likes to think he’s faster than me, but we all know who would win a sprint. However, as he settles into married life we all know it’s him who’s winning the marathon. I’m honored to be the one standing by his side as he marries the love of his life.
Groomsman
I’m Tom Odier, a real estate developer in Denver Colorado. I transferred to Regis from University of Iowa in 2015. I decided to join the ultimate frisbee team, and a group of us went to the local college bar, Rocky Top after practice. This was the first time that I went out with the frisbee folks and Michael and I quickly learned that we were born on the same day when the waitress checked our IDs. Over the years since then, Michael and I have grown closer with time even though the physical distance between us has gotten larger. Whenever Mike and I see each other, it’s like no time or distance has been between us since the last time we hung out and I look forward to this bond growing stronger as we grow older.
Groomsman
My name is Adam Maxey. I have known Mike since 2011 when I got a job working at Old Hickory as a banquet server. We instantly clicked and would start hanging out outside of work. We had similar interests such as playing baseball for our respective high schools. As the years have gone by we have became closer. We always have some friendly banter back and forth. It’s all in good spirit. We think we know about sports than the other but that will never separate us. We have played everything from a Top Golf league to baseball together over the years. There are countless memories we have made together and I’m positive there will be plenty more made together as we go about our lives.
Groomsman
My name is Austin Southmayd and I am one of the groomsmen. I am a medical laboratory scientist and currently working on my Masters as a Physician’s Assistant. Michael and I competed against each other on the baseball diamond in high school, but didn’t formally meet until being introduced by another groomsmen, Adam. Even though we went to rival high schools and even colleges several states apart – our friendship stayed strong. Our competitive nature and passion for sports has fueled our friendship. It has been an incredible journey and I am honored to stand by his side; as he and Darleen say “I do.”
Groomsman
My name is Bryan Dickherber and I am one the groomsman. I am graduating from Missouri University of Science & Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in May 2020. From there I will be starting my career at The Boeing Company as a Structural and Payload Design Engineer. I met Mikey through groomsman Adam Maxey back in high school. To be honest, I don’t know how long we’ve been friends exactly but I don’t think it’s something that matters because our friendship is timeless. The best part about Mikey is that he is usually the butt of every joke and it’s okay because he can take it like a man! Congrats to the newly weds! Can’t wait to party!!!
Groomsman
My name is Sam Rueb and Michael has been a good buddy of mine since our college days at Regis. We met through our CURA group in University Ministry and eventually became roommates for a year and a half. Our friendship grew over our time spent at Regis through intramural sports and many great times at RV 105. As college progressed we became closer and Michael has stood by me through thick and thin and that is why I am honored to stand by his side on His and Darleen’s special day, and beyond.
Groomsman
Greetings, my name is Jake and I’ve been friends with Mike since our freshman year of high school. I accidentally bumped into him in a parking lot and I was never able get rid of him! In all seriousness, Mike has been one of the most honest, loyal, and trustworthy friends I’ve ever had. Even though I’ve moved away to Chicago, I can always rely on him to have my back. I’m very happy he found Darleen and I know that they will make a great couple!
Groomsman
Hello I’m Jordan Mueller and one of Michael’s right hand men! We met a couple years back as I began my nursing career in STL. Michael and I bonded through our love for sports and some good ole craft beers through the years! Michael has been an amazing friend supporting me through the wild ride of life we go through! It’s an honor to have a friend who has supported me and challenged me to be a better person as Michael has! He has always been there when I needed him and I can only wish him and Darleen absolute happiness together and can’t think of two people better to keep each other on their toes to be the best people they can in life!
