Can you believe we have Bumble to thank for this happening?! Yep, we are an online dating success story. Both of us were on Bumble and swiped right and got to talking. Katie was about to delete the app when Darion messaged her a very nice response asking if she would like coffee any time of her choosing, all on her schedule, once he got back from deployment overseas. That sealed the first deal. After talking for awhile longer, they realized they had many similarities and wanted to meet up in real life. Darion came up to the U.P. for the first time ever (even though he's only from across the water in Sturgeon Bay, WI!) and Katie had a lot of safety plans in place in case things went south. Thankfully, he wasn't a serial killer and he ended up staying for 3 weeks. Shortly after some visits back and forth between Katie's house in the U.P. and Darion's place down in Illinois, Katie decided what the hell! Let's REALLY do something crazy and get married while only knowing each other for four months. So here we are now, navigating life together and trying every day to be better for each other.
