Flight

Paine Field or Seatac Airport

There are two airports near our wedding location, Sea-Tac (near Seattle-Tacoma, SEA) and Paine Field (in Everett, PAE). PAE--PAE is much closer to the hotels we'll recommend (3-8 miles).  It is a tiny airport and therefore much simpler to navigate and requires less time to get to your uber and a shorter pre-departure time (max 1 hour).   However the only public transportation available is the bus line or taxi/rideshare, rental cars are probably more expensive than SEA, and Alaska Airlines is pretty much the only airline that serves PAE. SEA--Flights into SEA are probably cheaper, and more airlines serve it,  but it will take you longer and cost more to get to your hotel (if you stay where we recommend) because it is about 30 miles south of the wedding area.  Link Light Rail (https://www.portseattle.org/page/public-transit-link-light-rail) is approx. $4 per person and will get you about 20 miles north to the northernmost station, Northgate.  Then you'll need to find other transportation to your hotel, roughly another 10 miles.  The Link Light Rail stations are generally not in walkable areas, so it is not very useful for touring the Seattle area on foot.

Where to book your stay

The wedding is in Woodinville but there are not many hotels or sightseeing opportunities there so we recommend you stay closer to I-5, either the 128th St interchange (exit 186) in Everett or the 196th St interchange (exit 181) in Alderwood.  The Everett location is closer to Darian's relatives and about 20 minutes from the wedding.  The Alderwood location is close to the Alderwood mall and shopping and restaurants, about 15 minutes to the wedding.
