Guys, we are getting married here for a reason. Spend some time. The boat tour is NOT TO BE MISSED. There will be a quiz on it at the reception and I will take the drink right out of your hand and escort you out if you did not go pay the park rangers their due.
This is wonderful. When we went there was a sea turtle named Bubblebutt who literally had a bubble in her butt and could not dive, so she had to hang out with them and be cared for. There is a lot of education and conservation knowledge to be had, and octopuses! Plus a touch tank with lots of little friends that run away from you for obvious reasons. It is also close to an excellent seafood restaurant if you are feeling a little macabre.
A tiki bar. Listen, the food is bad and the beer selection is nonexistent but the ambiance has made it near and dear to my heart. Liberty Bar is a better bar with much more interesting options closeby, if you are into quality or something.
Wacissa River/Springs- about 30 mins away. Use this guy for kayak/canoe rental! Monster trucks in the front yard. Easy to get lost down here. This should be last canoe rental place on the right hand side before the boat launch at the end of road. http://www.wacissarivercanoerentals.com/Fees.htm Alligators possible but not guaranteed at Big Blue spring!
A few things, first: this is on the coast and pretty, second: it has a lot of opportunities for bird-nerding for those so inclined. Third: I originally typed it as wilfewife, which you are guaranteed to see if you are coming for the wedding! Lastly: For the grammar-nerds (overlap with the bird nerds) I know it should be a possessive in the title but my apostrophe is not working on my keyboard. Note the overall avoidance of conjunctions.
These are unexpected whales on the front lawn of a house down the street from us. They are charming.
