Darcy was born in Tasmania and moved to the Northern Territory with his family when he was 7 years old. Growing up, he lived in national parks as his father was a park ranger. Heidi was born in Jakarta and moved to Perth with her family when she was 7 years old. She grew up in the suburbs of Perth. Darcy and Heidi had separate lives until Heidi decided to move to Darwin at the end of October 2023. On her very first Sunday in Darwin, Heidi went to church, and this is where Darcy first laid eyes on Heidi. Darcy was sitting at the sound desk and smiled at Heidi as she walked by, and Heidi walked right past him obliviously, having no memory of seeing Darcy that day. Meanwhile, Darcy remembers seeing Heidi in her yellow dress and thinking she was cute. The Wednesday following, Heidi was invited to a bible study group, which Darcy happened to be a part of! Darcy introduced himself to Heidi, and Heidi introduced herself to Darcy. Darcy thought this was his opportunity to talk to her and be his charming and engaging self. On the other hand, Heidi felt Darcy might have been standoff-ish and assumed they’d simply remain polite acquaintances. However, this assumption didn’t last long as through social events, Heidi saw how kind and goofy Darcy is. Not long after that, Darcy asked her out and they went on their first date. Since then, Darcy and Heidi have shared many laughs, adventures and memories together, and fast-forward to 1 year and 10 months later, on the 20th December 2025, Darcy got down on one knee and popped the question! They are so excited for this next chapter of their lives and can’t wait to celebrate their love with all of you on the 18th of June 2026.
