No. The people of Chicago are much gentler than they used to be.
Parking can be expensive and traffic can be trafficky, so generally it's best to walk, bike (you can rent a Divy), Uber, or take the CTA around. Google Maps is phenomenally useful when it comes to which trains or busses to take, but please feel free to ask us as well depending on where your hotel is! Also, please don't use scooters those are incredibly dangerous.
Wear whatever you'd like! We do not have a dress code for the wedding; we want people to be comfortable and able to enjoy the evening instead of feeling like stuffy penguins. Please keep in mind that it will be Chicago in June and that we will be in a greenhouse for the ceremony, and then the reception will be on an outdoor rooftop. Please leave your parkas at home
Look, this is a Jewish event. Jewish Standard Time demands a certain lateness to everything we do. Please try to get there by 4:45 PM though that would be great!
Please let us know if you have a food allergy! Complimentary epi-pens will not be doled out at this wedding so if you have a severe food allergy, please bring one
Unfortunately, most downtown Chicago hotels do not offer shuttles to the Garfield Park Conservatory because they're big meanies. However, the CTA green line goes there (Conservatory-Central Park Dr station), as well as the #20 Madison Bus.
Earlier is always better, but we need all RSVPs absolutely no later than June 5 please
Garfield Park Conservatory has free parking for the ceremony! For the reception, you can self park at The Godfrey Hotel, or valet at Fogo de Chao or Wildfire, which are all right next door to the Reception venue!
You will almost certainly not be bored, it's Chicago! We put a bunch of things to do under the header of "Things To Do", as well as a map on there. If you want to stay downtown, definitely check out The Bean and the architecture boat tour. David is obsessed with the Field Museum as well
