- Scenic Drives: The Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway has some of the best golden aspen views in CO.
- Visit Rocky Mountain National Park: Timed entry is required during peak season so get your pass ASAP if you'd like to enter RMNP: https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/fees.htm
- Downtown Estes Park: Wander through Elkhorn Avenue for quaint shops and treats.
- Visit the historic Stanley Hotel, which inspired The Shining. (Daphne will not be doing this!)
Exciting nature fact: Your visit coincides with the Elk Rut, the mating season for the local elks. You may see (and hear!) the elk as they gather in the meadows and get in elk fights. Keep an ear out for "bugling"—a high-pitched call made by the bulls that echoes through the valley.
