FAQs

Question

What airport should I travel into?

Answer

The closest and most convenient airport is LaGuardia (LGA) - about 30 minutes from our hotel blocks. JFK is also an option, though a bit farther, and Newark (EWR) is the least convenient for getting into the city (45 minutes to an hour).

Question

Are there hotel accommodations available?

Answer

Yes! We’ve arranged hotel blocks at a discounted price, which you can find in our "Hotel Blocks" section, but you’re also welcome to make your own accommodations. We recommend staying below 59th Street, as the marathon on Sunday will disrupt traffic uptown.

Question

How will the marathon impact my stay?

Answer

The marathon takes place on Sunday, November 1st and the hotels we’ve blocked off are outside of the main areas impacted by the marathon route. If you’re not heading out early on Sunday, we highly recommend sticking around to enjoy it - it’s one of the best days in NYC all year (aside from our wedding, of course 😉). The energy is unreal and it’s such a fun way to wrap up the weekend. With regards to leaving on Sunday, downtown manhattan will not have closures but we recommend checking your route to the airport in advance and building in extra time, as traffic will likely be heavier than usual. If you’re booking your own accommodations and aren’t sure whether the location will be affected, feel free to reach out to us - we’re happy to help! As a general rule, we recommend staying below 59th Street and west of 1st Avenue (59th & 1st is where the marathoners cross into Manhattan), as areas farther uptown and on the east side tend to see more closures.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Friday night is our Halloween welcome party, which means costumes are required - no excuses! Go all out, get creative, and don’t hold back. There will be a cash prize for the best costume, so come ready to impress (or at least entertain us). Saturday night is black tie: trade the costumes for your most elegant look and celebrate with us in style. Tuxedos for men and formal dresses for women.

Question

Can I drive to the welcome party and/or wedding venue?

Answer

We don’t recommend driving to the welcome party - Lower Manhattan gets crowded and parking is tricky. It is feasible to drive to the wedding, but again it’s street parking only, so give yourself extra time to hunt for a spot.

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

We’ll be sending formal invites a couple of months before the wedding, but as soon as you know whether you can (or can't) make it, please RSVP on our website - it really helps us with planning!

Question

What’s the best way to get around NYC?

Answer

Subway, walking, taxi/ubers are your best bets - fast, easy, and quintessentially NYC! We do NOT recommend driving your own car around the city.
