It all started with a trip to the Bahamas in September 2019, a trip that neither of us actually planned on taking! Danny, who wasn’t big on traveling back then, got convinced by his bestfriend Marcus to join. Meanwhile, Kiki hadn’t planned on going either, but her friend Derron managed to talk her into it. Shoutout to Derron and Ryan Watts for pulling this whole thing together, because honestly, without them, our love story might never have happened. Maybe we can set someone up during the destination wedding! We first met at the airport, and there was just this instant connection, like we’d known each other forever. We even ended up sitting next to each other on the shuttle to the Airbnb, and before we knew it, we were talking like old friends. Our friends had promised a fun weekend, and they definitely delivered, pool parties, a day at the Atlantis Casino, an amazing boat day, and just nonstop good vibes. When the trip ended, we exchanged numbers at the airport and went our separate ways, not really sure what would come of it. But Danny always says he felt something special from the moment he saw Kiki. Then life got in the way. COVID-19 happened, and everything, including our story, got put on hold. But in 2021, we reconnected, and it felt like we picked up right where we left off. It didn’t take long to realize we always wanted to be by each other’s side, and from that moment on, we’ve been inseparable. Since then, we’ve packed our lives with adventure and love, traveling across the U.S. and beyond. Whether it’s a trip with friends, family getaways, or just the two of us on a baecation, every trip has brought us closer. We both love exploring new places, so it was only natural that we’d want a destination wedding to celebrate our love. Mexico has become one of our favorite places, the food, the drinks, the culture, so when Danny proposed on the beach in Cancun on September 1, 2024, it couldn’t have been more perfect. With the waves, the sand, and the sunset as our backdrop, it was a moment we’ll cherish forever. Now, we’re excited to kick off this next chapter with a destination wedding surrounded by our closest family and friends.
