We Tied The Knot!

We met on the online dating app, Bumble. Our first date was at Next Door Kitchen & Bar in Ballston Spa, NY. We clicked right away, and the conversation was easy and comfortable. After the date, Erica texted her friend from work to give her the report...or so she thought. Erica sent the text, "He just seemed like a really GOOD guy".... only to realize she accidentally sent the text to Danny instead! Needless to say, Erica was mortified. But luckily Danny actually really was a good guy, laughed it off, and still asked her out on a second date.

On the second anniversary of our first date, we went on a cold and icy hike up Hadley Mountain in the Adirondacks. Danny set up a tripod to take some pictures of us at the summit, which was not unusual as he had done this before on other hikes. Danny waited until the other people around us started hiking back down and we were alone, then got down on one knee and proposed. Erica said yes! Danny popped open a bottle of champagne that he snuck into his backpack when Erica wasn't looking. The hike back down was a bit of a blur. We then went out to dinner at the same restaurant where we had our first date- Next Door Kitchen & Bar. The next morning, we went over to Erica's parents' house for brunch to celebrate with both of our families. Erica's niece and nephews were especially excited to find out that Danny is going to be their uncle!

Out of concern for the health and safety of all of our guests, our wedding reception originally planned for September 19th, 2020 was postponed to October 2nd, 2021. However, we weren't going to let the pandemic stop us from getting married in 2020! We decided to have an intimate wedding ceremony in the summer with just our immediate family and some of our wedding party present. We were married on August 1st, 2020 on O’Dell Island on Lake George. It was a beautiful day, and we couldn’t have pulled it off without all of the help from our family and friends! Thank you to Erica's brother in law, Alan, for officiating our ceremony; our fathers for shuttling everyone and everything to and from the island by boat; our families for loading and unloading the boats, setting up, and making and serving food; and our friends who also pitched in- Lee for playing guitar during our ceremony, Carl for videotaping our ceremony, and Jeff and Chad for manning the grills at our cookout afterwards! Thank you to Colleen, Kate, and Lance for letting us stay at the cabin afterwards! We are so lucky to have the best family and friends! We can’t wait to celebrate with all of our loved ones when we affirm our vows on Brant Lake on October 2nd, 2021!
