We met in 2008 when we were both in middle school. We took different classes and had different groups of friends, but our paths crossed fortuitously because we shared 1 mutual friend, Danielle. Once we started high school, we began talking and hanging out together. Eventually, our friendship grew into something more serious and we began dating. By the time we graduated high school, we knew we had something special. We moved in together and began working towards a more serious relationship. After ten years worth of memories, we've traveled to some pretty cool places, had some unforgettable nights with friends and introduced the cutest pup to our family.
Chris gifted me a trip to New York City for Christmas. Part of my gift included a couples' photo shoot in our favorite city. The day of our photo shoot arrived and we woke up to light snow falling between all the buildings. It was cold but the sun was out, so it was perfect. We met the photographer at the cutest coffee shop called FEED in Brooklyn. We walked to the top of this hill that has the most beautiful view of the New York skyline. I mean this place is famous for its view of the city, so it was absolutely beautiful! The photographer asked me to stand in so she could "make sure the spot was a good location." She asked me to turn around and when I did Chris was on his knee and asked me to marry him! It took me a good minute to answer, because I was shocked that he actually asked (I mean it was about time). He eventually asked if it was a yes and I said, "Yes! Yes!" forgetting that he was still on his knee (oops). After the photo shoot we went to a rooftop bar and celebrated with some champagne and an amazing view of the city. It was better than any proposal I could have dreamed of, and I am so happy that I have a special connection to the city I have loved since I was a little girl. We could not be more excited to celebrate the next step in our journey with each of you who have played (and will continue to play) such an important part in our adventure!
