Covid-19 International Travel into Chile

We are very excited that as of October 1st, foreign travels will be allowed into Chile! Starting November 1st, foreign travelers can enter the country...pending that one has submitted to the Chilean Government their full vaccination status, taken a PCR test prior to arrival in Chile, and a second PCR test upon arrival in Chile. A quarantine upon arrival in Chile is required but only for the duration it takes to receive your Chile arrival PCR test results (negative). *If you are fully vaccinated and have received your booster, no test or quarantine is needed to enjoy Chile. Flight

Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport (SCL)

SCL is the airport. It is an international airport serving Chile's largest city Santiago de Chile (pop. 6 million). As of 2020, major airlines like American Airlines, Delta and LATAM all fly into SCL. There are direct flights out of major US airport hubs like LAX, DFW, ATL and MIA). Connecting flights will save you money on ticket costs but will add to your travel time. Typically, the earlier you book, the better the price.

Rental Car

There are rental car agencies at the airport (SCL). It is high-season so best to book in advance to secure a reservation and get the best rate. Make note of any damage on the car prior to driving off the rental car lot. We'd recommend, if renting, to opt in for the LDW (Loss Damage Waiver) option to at the very least protect against any damage to the rental car. ***BUS-Chile is known for their great privately owned bus companies. You can get to Santiago, Vina del Mar, Valparaiso and many other great areas via bus. Get to the Pajaritos Terminal from SCL and look for Pullman or Turbus bus lines (our favorites).*** Uber Uber is safe and and effective way to get around within Santiago or other Chilean cities like Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. They accept credit cards thru the Uber app.

House Or Rental

Airbnb Concón, Reñaca, or Viña del Mar by Ocean

***We'd highly recommend staying near Concón, Reñaca, or near the ocean in Viña del Mar.*** We feel an Airbnb in these areas would be a great option to be close to wedding venue and the ocean. This area is lively, has beautiful beaches and is considered safe.

This hotel is right on the water in Vina del Mar. It is closer to the historic port city of Valparaiso for those who have this city as a highlight.
