Maid of Honor
My beloved sister, my giggle partner, my confidant...who else would I have as my Maid of Honor. She came into my life when I was twelve years old and I've been in awe of her ever since. Strong, smart and courageous, she is also the second funniest of my mother's daughters 😜 My sister, my first true best friend. Words can’t even express what it means to have her next to me on this day.
Best Man
From kicking this guy (accidentally??) in the head while on a strike team in Corralitos in '89, to our annual Long Beach Grand Prix trips. Gregg is my Crown-sipping buddy at the track with whom I love to sit and talk with into the wee hours of the night. I could not be more proud to have him as my best man. And while we may not be blood, Gregg is definitely my brother forever and the best friend a guy could ask for.
Bridesmaid
I was 17, so she must have been 15? 14? when we met. Seems like she has always been a part of my life. One half of the parenting duo to my handsome godson, Fred, my 'let's go see U2" partner and one my most treasured friends. AND along with my other bridesmaid Denise, were working behind the scenes to push mine and David's relationship along. Well done, my friend, well done. ;)
Groomsman
Steven has always called me "Pops" and I have always considered him to be like a son. I did my best to guide and mold this kid into a strong family man, be it at work on the SLP, at the Carmel Valley Fire department or just at a backyard BBQ. Steven was always off and running; he was a hard guy to keep focused and still. I am proud of our "Woody", for all that he has accomplished, and I am very proud to have him be a part of this special occasion.
Bridesmaid
Small but mighty. That's my friend Denise. A fierce mama bear. I believe I was in my mid-twenties when we met. We were not fast friends; Ours is one that has truly grown out of respect and admiration of each other over the years. Now I couldn’t imagine life without her. It is a true friendship, one that I can depend on and vice versa. Part of the "Summer Concert Trio" and co-conspirator in the formation of Mr and Mrs Simpson 2019. 'Got yer back lady' Always!
Groomsman
I had a nice quiet place on 20,000 acres and then this guy moves in next door. From then on out, a friendship was formed; someone to go riding, hunting and golfing with, as well as a night or two ( 😉 ) out at the Baja. We bonded on those long nights standing around the BBQ fire, solving the worlds problems. We had some crazy adventures, even if we were only out in the front yard.
Bridesmaid
Brains! Also my friend for well over 30 years. It's been an honor to have her by my side, and me by hers, through some of life's toughest, as well as some of life's sweetest, moments. My drinking and dancing buddy, lots of Cachagua Friendsgiving's and an infamous Y2k party 🙊 January is true blue and country strong. I am proud to call her a friend and honored to have her stand with me on our special day.
Junior Bridesmaid
One of the many new titles I will be taking on this year will be that of 'step-mom'. And to this smart, no-nonsense, level-headed, beautiful young lady, it will be my honor. My henna-tatooing, nose-piercing partner, thank you to her for taking me into her life so openly and so lovingly. I hope to do her, as well as her brother Aiden, proud in my new role.
Junior Bridesmaid
My spunky, smart, talented and beautiful niece. How lucky I am to have her in my life. From crawling out of her bedroom window as a toddler to today's art and film student at college in SoCal. She keeps life interesting and I am inspired daily by her drive to follow her dreams and just to be true to herself. She is "My most favoritist niece in the whole wide world" and I thank my sister for giving her to me. <3
Junior Groomsman
He came into my life and I became a Father, something that at that point in time I never thought I would be. From going on our road trips, our camping, fishing and Disneyland adventures, to watching him grow (way too fast) into the young man that he is today. I am so proud to call him son and it's an honor to be his father.
Mother of the Bride
My mom....I honestly never thought I would give her this day. I never had any interest in being married or weddings or any of that traditional stuff. But here we are. She is about to retire from working and I am finally putting her mind at ease by taking a husband 😉 But seriously, I put this lady through heck growing up and her love for me never faltered. She never gave up hope, even in my worst of times. Along with morals, integrity, compassion, empathy, and acceptance of others, she always tried to instill “pride in self”. Thank you for everything mom, and I mean EVERYTHING, that you have done to make me the person I am today. I love you this much!
Father of the Bride
Chris came into my life when I was 11, and has pretty much been the only father I had. He gave me my appreciation of sports, Led Zeppelin and New York. Of course, we didn't exactly hit it off right away, but I eventually came around. Especially when my sister came into the picture. Chris is smart and funny (just ask him 😉), makes the best scalloped potatoes and has taught me a lot about self respect and loyalty. I'm proud to have him be a co-walker on this special occasion.
Cheerleader
Ok, so she may not be walking down the aisle with us, but she has been our biggest cheerleader ever since we became engaged. Strong, smart, silly, beautiful inside and out, and oh so brave....my daughter, the true “love of my life”. She will be sitting in the front row with my granddaughter 'in the oven' and her husband Danny at her side. I do not even have the appropriate words to express what her presence here on this day means to me, but it is everything <3 Life sure can be amazing.
